Stage Door Inc. is a local Pasadena, nonprofit, community theatre. Founded in 2007 by Marc Anthony Glover, Justin Nicholson and Tania Glover, the goal was to be a true “community” theater by giving back and getting involved while putting on great shows. SDI bucks community theater tradition by bringing edgy, cult favorites outside the loop.

SDI announces their fifth season opening in January, 2013. Audiences were asked to vote on their favorite SDI performances in the last five years. The audience picks were: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street; Evil Dead: The Musical; Rent; Little Shop of Horrors; and The Rocky Horror Show. With the audience being clear on their favorites, SDI decided to keep with the theme and name 2013 their season of Murder, Madness and Mayhem.

2013 opens January 4, 2013 with the mayhem of New York’s Alphabet City in the 90s with RENT. The remainder of the season is laid out as follows:

Stephen King’s Misery in February;
Little Shop of Horrors in March and April;
Southern Hospitality in May;
Sweeney Todd in July;
Tennessee WilliamsCat on a Hot Tin Roof in August;
The Rocky Horror Show in September;
Evil Dead opens Halloween night; and
Nuncrackers opens just in time for Christmas.

There will also be two children’s shows throughout the season that are sure to be mayhem and madness with lots of kids and lots of fun. Come visit your local community theater for a season of murder, madness and mayhem.
