Phoebe Ventouras comes to the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival, tonight, June 14 & 22 in I'm Doing the Best I Can, directed by Rich Pierre Louis with original music by Felix Ventouras.
I'm Doing The Best I Can: A lifetime of hopes, dreams, training and hard work have led Phoebe Ventouras to this very moment. Phoebe wants to put on a great show. She really does. She has so much in her heart she wants to share. Armed with wit, critical thinking, and a tube of lip-gloss, she can conquer anything. Except maybe her own attention span. What happens when a bookish little girl grows up to crave the spotlight? This one-woman comedy show.
Phoebe Ventouras developed I'm Doing The Best I Can with director Rich Pierre Louis, a fellow comic and actor. Creatively drawn to silliness and self-deprecating humor, both actor and director come from traditional theater backgrounds.

Making a name for herself as a stand-up comic, Phoebe Ventouras has received rave reviews as an actor. Described as "Sterling" (Phillip Hopkins, TheaterMania) "The right whimsy for the job" (HeLen Shaw, New York Sun), and having "appealing sauciness" (Matthew Murray, Talkin' Broadway), she combines a sensitive portrayal of human foibles with a wicked sense of humor. In "I'm Doing The Best I Can", she puts her own shortcomings as a comic and person on full display in a hilarious celebration of her creative demons. A showcase for her gifts as a singer and defects as a dancer, this one-woman comedy show tosses in song and dance for good measure.

Known for her unique voice as a real lady lost in the real world, comedian Phoebe Ventouras follows up years of meaning to make a one-woman show with this disastrous attempt at a serious endeavor. Distracted by her need for and fear of perfection, a total lack of self-awareness, and the very crowd in front of her, Phoebe takes the audience on a wild jaunt that includes reading, sitting, watching, and a little song and dance.

Felix Ventouras (Composer) music has been performed at the Meyerson Symphony Center, The McKinney Avenue Contemporary, and Mercyhurst College, and premiered at the Music Festival of the Hamptons, the National Arts Club, Clark Studio Theater at Lincoln Center, and the Joyce SoHo. A piece he helped compose and arrange was played during the Beijing Summer Olympic Games. In April 2009, he visited Taiwan to hear the premiere of his orchestral piece Bird! performed by students of Cao Tun Elementary School His ballet Dracula has been performed for the past three years by the Island Moving Company of Rhode Island
