The Pepperdine University Fine Arts Division Theatre Department will present Eve Ensler's drama Necessary Targets at 7:30 p.m. on tonight, January 21-Saturday, January 25, with a 2 p.m. matinee on January 25, at the Malibu campus' Lindhurst Theatre.

Tickets, priced at $15 for the public, $10 for full-time Pepperdine students, and $12 for Pepperdine faculty and staff, are available now by calling (310) 506-4522 or online att http://arts.pepperdine.edu/.

In Necessary Targets, two American women--a Park Avenue psychiatrist and an ambitious young writer--travel to Bosnia to help women refugees confront their memories of war. They emerge deeply changed as they confront their own fears in the face of violence, resiliency, and war.

Based on interviews conducted by Ensler with numerous women who survived the civil war in the former Yugoslavia, Necessary Targets is a timely reminder of how America struggles to define its relationship to the rest of the world.

The play is recommended for mature audiences.

Marya Mazor directs the Pepperdine student cast, which includes Chelsie Blackwell, Constance Egli, Madison Erceg, Arielle Fodor, Marina Moore, Lexie Tankersley, and Anna Tullis.

Pepperdine Theatre performed this piece at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2006, but this is the first production of the play on the Malibu campus.

Necessary Targets is presented as part of Pepperdine's Mary Pickford-Stotsenberg Performances series. No late seating is allowed. There will be a talkback with the cast and director following the Wednesday performance.
