Playwrights' Arena, in association with Greenway Arts Alliance at Greenway Court Theatre, presents the World Premiere of PAINTING IN RED by Luis Alfaro, opening Saturday, October 18, 2014.

PAINTING IN RED -- Luis Alfaro's modern day adaptation of El Pintor de su Deshonra (The Painter of his Own Dishonor)by Pedro Calderon de la Barca. It was developed through Playwrights' Arena's Golden Tongues Series at the UCLA William Andrews Clark Memorial Library.

Directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera, the production will star Elisa Bocanegra, Cristina Frias, Joe Hernandez-Kolski, Justin Huen, Jayme Lake, West Liang and Rodney To.

The creative team includes Christopher Scott Murillo (Scenic Design); Adam Blumenthal (Lighting Design); Keith Skretch (Video Design); Mylette Nora (Costume Design); Bob Blackburn (Sound Design); Janette Jara (Stage Manager) and Giselle Gilbert (Producer).

There will be one preview on Thursday, October 16 at 8:00 P.M. (Tickets: $10.00). The production will open on Saturday, October 18 at 8:00 P.M. (Opening night: $30.00), with performances continuing on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 P.M.; Sundays at 7:00 P.M. through Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. All shows run at the Playwrights' Arena at Greenway Court Theatre, 544 North Fairfax Avenue in West Hollywood , CA 90036 (One block south of Melrose at Clinton). FREE SECURE PARKING.
