ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN starring Gary Mullen and the Works is an authentic recreation of Queen at the height of their popularity, featuring the incredible Gary Mullen as Freddy Mercury. There are many Queen tribute bands but none can match the intensity, vocal range, outrageously sexual and extroverted performance of Gary Mullen as Freddy Mercury.
Has Freddie Mercury come back to life? For a two-hour, energy-filled concert you will swear he is standing onstage in the flesh. But it is really Gary Mullen and The Works - England's Number One Queen Tribute Band. ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN will have toddlers to grandparents dancing in the aisles.
Wearing tight white pants, some ancient Adidas sneakers and often little else, Mullen brings legendary Queen front man Freddie Mercury back to life as their 2016 US tour begins here in March. Celebrating the Music of Queen -Gary Mullen has the look, the sound, the pomp and the showmanship!
Fans know Queen classics such as "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Killer Queen," "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "Another One Bites the Dust" so well that these tunes are almost rock cliches. To this day, "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" are still played in stadiums at sporting events throughout the world. And their epic "Bohemian Rhapsody" seems to have a resurgence with every generation after first breaking through in 1975 including a memorably comic take in the movie "Wayne's World" after which it peaked at #2 on the pop charts 17 years after its first release.
ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN is backed by a crack four-piece band, with uses sophisticated lighting and effects. Mullen's uncanny ability to reincarnate Mercury features not only his killer vocals, but Freddie's full physicality and iconic look - from using the half-broken microphone as a prop to wrapping himself in a huge American flag at the show's exhilarating finale.
But Mullen isn't alone in this incredible tribute performance. Guitarist David Brockett, voted one of Scotland's best guitarists by Total Guitar Magazine, rips through the iconic licks of Brian May on an exact replica of May's home-made "Red Special" guitar. Joining them onstage are expert musicians Billy Moffat on bass, Jon Halliwell on drums, and Malcom Gentles on keyboards to fill out the epic sounds of one of the world's greatest rock bands.
From "You're My Best Friend," to the incredible duet with David Bowie "Under Pressure," everybody has a favorite Queen song that you can't resist singing along to. ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN will have you singing, dancing, and clapping along as they bring these amazing rock anthems back to life, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.
