After almost a year on hiatus and several months of construction and permitting issues with the City of Fullerton, former members of the award-winning and critically-acclaimed Rude Guerrilla Theater Company have reunited and formed the new Monkey Wrench Collective. On Friday, May 14, 2010, MWC will open its new space at 204 N. Harbor, in downtown Fullerton, Orange County's bastion of storefront theater.

Devoted to US Premieres of European work, West Coast Premieres of socially provocative new work and rarely-performed classics, Rude Guerrilla Productions' Monkey Wrench Collective will be an intimate 30-50 seat space that will offer an unusual array of artists its first season:
The Collective's first production in the new space will be the US Premiere of Mark Ravenhill's POOL (NO WATER), directed by Artistic Director Dave Barton and choreographers Melita Ann Sagar and Lee Samuel Tanng.

A famous artist invites old friends to her luxurious new home and, for one night only, the group of artists is back together. Celebrations come to an abrupt end when the host suffers a horrific accident and an almost unthinkable plan starts to take shape: could her suffering be their next work of art? The ensemble cast of seven includes Peter J. Balgoyen, Christopher Basile, Keith Bennett, Sean Engard, Jessica Lamprinos, Terri Mowrey and Alexander Price. Warning: The play contains nudity and sexual situations.

The show runs for twelve performances only Fridays at 8:00, Saturdays at 5:00 and Sundays at 3:00, thru June 6. All seats are $15.00 general admission and $10.00 for students.

Playing in repertory with POOL (NO WATER)) is THE FEVER by Wallace Shawn, opening Thursday, May 27 at 8:00 p.m. The play is directed by Greg Adkins and stars Melanie Gable.

Rounding up the 2010 season: In June, the West Coast Premiere of TRUE LOVE LIES, Brad Fraser's sequel to his hit UNIDENTIFIED HUMAN REMAINS AND THE TRUE NATURE OF LOVE. In August, UCI Professor Eli Simon brings his CLOWNZILLA troupe for the WORLD PREMIERE of CLOWNZILLA: ILLEGAL ALIENS. October is a revival of Mark Ravenhill's controversial British hit SHOPPING & F**KING. The World Premiere of Orange County playwright Chris Secor's JESUS IS GAY closes out the 2010 season in December.
