Chances are you've heard Carla Delaney's voice before. A master impressionist, her voice has featured in animation, video games and commercials everywhere. She's done everyone from Carol Brady in that famous Snicker's commercial to Bart Simpson to Martha Stewart to Lady Gaga, and the list goes on and on. A capable actor, Carla's created her own gallery of quirky, memorable character. She's written and performed in The Groundling's Sunday Company, in the hit show Forbidden Broadway, on TV's Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Conan, and much more.

Entertaining, attractive and a power house on stage, how she got to this point is a coming-of-age story as funny and insightful as the multitude of characters inside her. Carla became aware at an early age of an array of conflicting voices inside her head. She had to find which voice was her most genuine, the one that would best speak her innermost truth.

This summer Voices played to sold out houses in The Hollywood Fringe Festival and extended it's run three times. Carla was awarded Best Solo Performance by TVolution and Voices won The Hollywood Fringe Festival Encore Producer's Award. It was nominated as Best Solo Show out of 75 entries, earning Voices the honorable distinction of Asylum's Pick Of The Fringe 2016.

Jessica Lynn Johnson directs Voices. Johnson, an acclaimed and award-winning solo show veteran, is a published playwright, a recipient of the Best National Solo Artist Award and founder of Soaring Solo Theatre Company Los Angeles. For over a decade, Jessica has "edu-tained" international audiences touring her 25-character one person shows. Most recently, she directed 12 solo shows in the largest solo festival on the West Coast, the Whitefire Theatre's Solo Fest. Other directing credits include "The Mermaid Who Learned How To Fly", "365 Days of Crazy", "Triangles Are My Favorite Shape", "Bully-mia", "Not My Show", "Answers Otta The Blue", and more.

Not only does Voices explore the comedy of the many voices throughout Ms. Delaney's own personal journey, it also delves deeper. About a year ago, Carla was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Syndrome, a condition of the thyroid. Through that diagnosis, Carla became interested in the connection between her own mind, body and spirit. She was surprised to learn how many women in America are affected by thyroid conditions. Ironically, the thyroid is found in the throat and can directly affect the voice. Carla couldn't help but wonder if there was a connection to thyroid deficiency and the way women communicate...or don't communicate.

"It led me to ask the question, are women speaking their truth?" she said. "As I state in my show, 'the body is a sophisticated messenger. It tries at every turn to speak it's truth! And if you ignore that truth, if you stuff it down, it will give you the flu.'"
