Lorna Luft to Guest Star in 'Broadway Meets Hollywood' 9/16 & 9/19

Lorna Luft will appear as a special guest star in 'Broadway Meets Hollywood--In Concert," the New West Symphony has announced.  Luft will appear with conductor Steven Goldstein and the New West Pops, as well as music director and conductor Colin Freeman and vocalists Tobi Foster and Blake Ginther

The concert will be held on September 16 at 7:30pm at Glendale's Alex Theatre and on September 19 at 4:00pm at the Kavli Theatre in the Thousand Oaks Civic Plaza.

The New West Symphony's description of the concert reads, "Dynamic song stylist Lorna Luft joins conductor Steven Goldstein and the New West Pops performing selections from her hit show, Songs My Mother Taught Me - her tribute to Judy Garland. She will be joined by singers direct from the Broadway stage for an evening of showstopping songs from Oscar favorites to the Great White Way. From classic George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein to Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia and Elton John- 'Broadway Meets Hollywood'- then and now."

Lorna Luft's many stage credits include PROMISES, PROMISES, THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG, GUYS AND DOLLS, GYPSY, and THE WIZARD OF OZ.  She has recorded one solo album, 'Songs My Mother Taught Me.'
