Little Fish Theatre's third production in their eleven-show line-up for 2016 is Sleuth, by Anthony Shaffer. Written by the popular British playwright, screenwriter, and novelist, Sleuth ran for over 1200 performances on Broadway, was the winner of the 1971 Tony® Award for Best Play, and was made into two feature films.

When an aging mystery writer lures his wife's lover to his mansion, the younger man becomes unwittingly drawn into a tangled web of intrigue and gamesmanship, where nothing is quite as it seems. This edge-of-your-seat mystery filled with cunning plot twists is not only an exciting "whodunit" but a fascinating "whodunwhat."

The devious author is played by Richard Perloff*, a Little Fish Theatre Company Member and winner of two StageSceneLA awards for LFT's Chapter Two and Loot. Milo Tindle, the unsuspecting pawn in Andrew's game is played by Shakespeare by the Sea favorite and LFT Company Member Bryson Jones Allman, who appeared in LFT's 2015 production of Henry IV, Part 1 and most recently in the perennial best-selling short play festival Pick of the Vine.

"Sleuth has been on my short list of dream projects to direct, I am excited to be working with such an accomplished cast and creative team to bring this crafty play to life," states director James Rice. "Audiences will love the suspenseful aspects as well as the action elements in the show. We can't wait to tell them this story." Rice has directed numerous plays at Little Fish over the years, the most recent of which were three of the short plays in Pick of the Vine and last summer's audience favorite Private Lives.

Sleuth will run Wednesdays and Thursdays March 10 through March 31 at 8pm. One Sunday matinee is scheduled for 2pm on March 13, where the creative team will be available for 10 to 15 minutes for a post-show discussion with the audience.

Founded in 2002, Little Fish Theatre presents classic and contemporary plays in an intimate setting on Centre Street in downtown San Pedro. Producing eleven plays each year in a one-room 65-seat venue, Little Fish delivers the quintessential close-up theatrical experience, where audience and performers share space and sight-lines, making for eruptive laughter, highly-charged action and palpable emotion.

*This production is presented under the auspices of the Actors' Equity Los Angeles Membership Company Rule.
