La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts has announced its annual MARCH MADNESS events.  Featuring everything from Debbie Reynolds to Ed Asner as FDR; Journey to Abbey Road, there is something for everyone in a month full of musical events and theatrical entertainment.

MARCH MADNESS 2010 will include:

JOURNEY UNAUTHORIZED
March 5 - 8pm

Having been greeted with OPEN ARMS by audiences across the country, from New England to Alaska, these five talented musicians FAITHFULLY bring the angelic harmonies and screaming solos of the 1980's mega-rock band Journey back to life. Journey Unauthorized is a concert tribute show with no samples or piped-in background vocals, just the raw soul of authentic instruments and voices.

SWING, SWING, SWING!
March 7 - 3pm

A golden oldie opportunity to see performances by former Miss America and Broadway star Mary Ann Mobley, The Four Lads, the innovative harmonies of the Ink Spots ("If I Didn't Care" and "I Don't Want to Set the World On Fire"), and Jo Ann Castle tickling the ivories.

ABBEY ROAD
March 12 - 8pm

Since 2003, Classic Albums Live has earned a reputation of painstakingly recreating, note-for-note, cut-for-cut, some of rock music's most indelible albums. Now, forty years after The Beatles recorded their final studio album, a hand-picked collection of seventeen musicians will come together to perform, in its entirety, one of the most influential popular music recordings of all time - the rock masterpiece ABBEY ROAD.

YOUNG DUBLINERS
March 13 - 8pm

Ignoring labels has carved a niche for the Young Dubliners as a fusion band -- not rock, not punk, not Celtic but all of those sounds punctuated with penny whistles, mandolins, and other classically Irish instruments. That sound keeps them producing exciting new music that has continually won critical acclaim.  Building a fervent fan base comparable to that of jam band rockers like Phish and Dave Matthews Band, the Young Dubliners have become notorious for the whirling jig pits that erupt at their live shows.

IT'S MAGIC!
March 14 - 3pm

Internationally renowned illusionists from the four corners of the world delight audiences in a show that has been enchanting magic enthusiasts and curiosity seekers for over five decades.  Currently scheduled to appear are: Bruce Block, Eric Buss, Danny Cole, Amos Levkovitch, Ray Pierce and David Zirbel.

Ed Asner AS FDR
March 20 - 8pm

Ed Asner, recipient of seven Emmy Awards ("Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Lou Grant") and 16 nominations, five Golden Globe Awards, member of the TV Academy Hall of Fame, and the voice of Carl Fredricksen in Pixar's latest film, Up, will star in the solo performance drama, FDR, based upon Dore Schary's Broadway hit Sunrise at Campobello, which ran 70 weeks on Broadway. FDR explores the life of one of America's best-loved presidents and the events and decisions that shaped a nation. This powerful play follows the iconic president as he reflects on his years in office, from inauguration to the trials of World War II.

THREE DOG NIGHT
March 26 - 8PM

With twenty-one consecutive Top 40 hits and twelve straight gold records, Three Dog Night sold 50 million records between 1969 and 1975. The show goes on when founding members Danny Hutton and Cory Wells and original band members Michael Allsup and Jimmy Greenspoon come to La Mirada to play their classic hits including "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)," "Joy to the World," and "Black and White."

Debbie Reynolds
March 27 - 8pm

From her Academy Award-nominated performance in The Unsinkable Molly Brown to her Tony nominated performance in Irene to her Emmy nominated performance on Will & Grace, Debbie Reynolds has been entertaining audiences around the world for sixty years. Now the true living legend comes to La Mirada Theatre for a special, one-night-only engagement. An intimate evening with the kind of star they just don't make anymore, this is sure to be a not-to-be-missed experience - part music, part comedy, and all Debbie Reynolds.

All MARCH MADNESS events will perform at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. Tickets can be purchased at lamiradatheatre.com or by calling (562) 944-9801 or (714) 994-6310.
