LA's Rockwell: Table & Stage Concert Series Releases First Album FOR THE RECORD: TARANTINO Today

"For The Record: Tarantino," the new CD produced by Ad Astra Live, features a dynamic cast that breathes new life into director Quentin Tarantino's films with fresh adaptations from the music featured in the director's iconic body of work. The series highlights stars from stage, record and screen as well as new, rising performers embodying iconic movie characters and giving them new voices. The album is available today by LML Music HERE.

"We chose to release the Tarantino album first since it was the beginning of the entire series," said Shane Scheel, producer and co-creator. "With Django Unchained being released soon in movie theatres we thought fans would appreciate being able to listen to Tarantino's soundtracks in this unique way – Tarantino surely did when he came to see the show."

Recorded in Los Angeles, the album was engineered and mastered by Jake Simpson, with musical director and co-creator Christopher Lloyd Bratten on piano/keyboard, Kiel Feher on drums, Jonny Morrow on bass, and Nicolas Perez on guitar. Songs are compiled from Tarantino movies Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Four Rooms, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2, Death Proof, Inglourious Basterds and include "Hooked On A Feeling," "Stuck In The Middle With You," "Son Of A Preacher Man," "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)," "A Satisfied Mind," and "Magic Carpet Ride."

Featured artists include: Von Smith, Anneliese Van Der Pol, Anderson Davis, Dionne Gipson, Jackie Tohn, Rogelio Douglas Jr., Jason Paige, Ginifer King, Steve Mazurek, Darryl Semira, Margaret M. Spirito, Kristolyn Lloyd, Danielle Truitt, and Lisa Datz. With Ben Goldberg, Melissa Tang, Tawny Dolley, Rashonda Johnson, and Tinuke Oyefule. Executive Producers include Shane Scheel, Christopher Lloyd Bratten, Siobhan O'Neill and Lee Lessack.

The "For The Record" series is a unique form of live entertainment that immerses its' audiences in the worlds of cinema and music. The series is performed year-round at their permanent home in Los Angeles at Rockwell: Table & Stage (www.rockwell-la.com). Additionally, the "For The Record" series has been performed at Austin's SXSW, Ace Hotel in Palm Springs and City Winery in New York. Other featured directors in the "For The Record" series have included Baz Luhrmann, Coen Brothers, Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson and John Hughes.

Those living in Los Angeles can catch "For The Record: Tarantino" live beginning tonight and every Tuesday through December 18, 2012 at Rockwell: Table & Stage (1714 N. Vermont Ave. in Los Feliz). As a series, "For The Record" has been featured on CBS, Fox, ABC, CW, and NBC. "For The Record" was recently chosen for an LA Weekly 2012 Best of LA award.
