KJazz is throwing its third annual benefit concert at the Music Center's Walt Disney Concert Hall on Saturday, June 27th at 8pm. The show will feature A SWINGING TRIBUTE TO COUNT BASIE by Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band and special guests Lee Ritenour, Gregg Field, and the Sara Gazarek Band.

Winner of the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band is made up of 18 of L.A.'s finest musicians. The Big Phat Band puts a contemporary spin on the big band tradition with a hard-charging, virtuosic style.

Joining the band is special guest guitarist Lee Ritenour. A protégé of the legendary Joe Pass, Ritenour was a founding member of contemporary jazz supergroup Fourplay, and has racked up 19 Grammy nominations. Also performing are Sara Gazarek, who the Los Angeles Times called "the next important jazz singer," and a lineup of artists to be announced.

The Count Basie tribute will also feature a display of never-before-seen photos and memorabilia of the trailblazing bandleader.
