Chromolume Theatre has announced Songs For A New World as its final production of their 2016 season,opening on Friday, September 9 at 8pm with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown.

Songs For A New World is about one moment, hitting a wall and having to make a choice, or to take a stand, or to turn around and go back. Will the expectant young couple put aside their differences and move forward with their unborn child? How does the New York Socialite deal with her feelings of loss of her son to war and her husband to another woman? What is the next move of the political activist now that he has been imprisoned?

Songs For A New World is the first produced work from Jason Robert Brown and premiered at the WPA in 1995, originally directed by Daisy Prince.

The show is directed by James Esposito, with musical direction by Daniel Yokomizo and includes a cast of Kenny Gary, Bailey Humiston, Matt Mancuso and Teresa Tracy*. The stage manager is Matthew Sanchez, with scenic design by Shen Heckel, lighting design by Richard Fong, sound design by James Esposito and costume design by Ovation, LADCC, LA Weekly and NAACP Award winning Michael Mullen. Songs For A New World is produced by James Esposito for the NAACP Award Winning company, Chromolume Theatre.

Songs For A New World opens on Friday, September 9 at 8pm. The regular performance schedule is Friday and Saturday at 8pm andSunday at 7pm through September 25, 2016.
