Charlie Hofheimer Joins HERO Theatre's CLASSIC FILM PROJECT

Charlie Hofheimer, also known as Abe Drexler on AMC's "Mad Men" joins the cast of HERO Theatre's "Classic Film Project". Hofheimer will star in "Non Mi Scordo...with a Shmear" written by Danny Hoch. Ric Salinas of "Culture Clash" will also star in the event in "Treason or Reason" written by Larry Charles. The "Classic Film Project" consists of scenes inspired by classic films.

Mr. Hofheimer's theatre credits include "The Lyons" and "On the Waterfront" on Broadway. His other theatre credits include the Williamstown Theatre Festival and Lincoln Center. His many film and television credits include Off Season, Paranoia and Black Hawk Dawn.

Mr. Salinas is a founding member of the performance troupe Culture Clash which he co-founded in 1984. Culture Clash's work includes comedic sketches, full-length plays and films featuring political and social satire.

"The Classic Film Project" will be presented at the Mack Sennett Studios in Los Angeles on September 7, 2013 for two performances, then later in New York City. Other writers include Pulitzer-winner Quiara Alegria Hudes, Luis Alfaro, Ricardo A. Bracho, Francesco DeSantis, Colman Domingo, Jennifer Haley, Tamar Halpern, Juri Henley-Cohn, Carmen Rivera, Ethan Sandler, Candido Tirado and Annie Weisman.

Olympia Dukakis is Chair of HERO Theatre's Advisory Board. Other members include Michael Ritchie (Artistic Director of the Center Theatre Group), Jenny Gersten (Artistic Director of the Williamstown Theatre Festival), Bill Rauch (Artistic Director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival), esteemed directors Michael Wilson and Lisa Peterson, playwright Migdalia Cruz and casting director Judy Bowman.
