Reprise! Broadway's Best presents Broadway, TV and film-star Carol Burnett in Conversation with Philip Himberg, Artistic Director of the Sundance Theatre Program and director of Flora, the Red Menace for one-night-only on Monday, May 12, 2008 at UCLA's intimate Freud Playhouse.

"Before the legendary Carol Burnett Show was launched and before millions of people around the world would become her fans, Carol Burnett's burgeoning career took her to New York at a time when Broadway was bursting with musical theater talent, energy and innovation.   In 1965, the year that Flora, the Red Menace premiered at the Alvin Theater starring Liza Minnelli, a theatre-goer could also see Carol Burnett in Fade Out, Fade In, with music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green at the Mark Hellinger.  Down the street, at the Winter Garden was Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl, and on 44th street, at the St. James, Carol Channing starred in Hello, Dolly!" detail press materials, "Philip Himberg and Carol Burnett will 'remember' those extraordinary Broadway years and how the birth of Ms. Burnett's career was influenced by the great masters of the form: George Abbott (who directed her in Once Upon a Mattress and Fade Out, Fade In and was the original director of Flora, lyricists Betty Comden and Adolph Green, composers Jule Styne, Mary Rodgers and many others."

Joining Burnett and Himberg will be special musical guest, Vicki Lewis. For tickets, priced at $95, please call the UCLA Central Ticket Office at 310/825-2101 or visit www.reprise.org. For VIP Tickets, please call 310/295-1171 x 25.
