This Thursday, March 16th, 42 Seven Productions and W Hollywood will welcome Broadway vets Patrice Covington (The Color Purple) and Jesse Nager (Motown the Musical) to LA's new weekly concert series, "Live In The Living Room," taking place every Thursday night in The Living Room of W Hollywood.

Covington and Nager's show titled "Cruising Steady: The Music and Friendship of Aretha Franklin and Smokey Robinson" will premiere this Thursday at 10pm for one night only. Special guest singer Reed Shannon (Nickelodeon's "Singing AJ") of Motown the Musical joins Covington and Nager.

"Cruising Steady: The Music and Friendship of Aretha Franklin and Smokey Robinson" is a tribute show that focuses on long-time friends Aretha and Smokey and how their lives were similarly shaped by the times and their experiences. Discover how two different kids from Detroit became international superstars. Patrice and Jesse become Aretha and Smokey.

The "Live In The Living Room" series brings an authentic experience to the West Coast through showcasing LA's hottest artists and brightest talents. Audiences are treated to personal, acoustic performances with cast members of Broadway's touring casts, upcoming and established recording artists, and Tv/Film stars in the Living Room at the upscale W Hollywood. Daniel J. Watts of the Tony-award winning smash "Hamilton" and HBO's "Vinyl," serves as the resident host.

Patrice Covington has performed all over the world with both Broadway casts of hit shows and her own original music. She has appeared in "The Color Purple," 'Motown the Musical," "The Book of Mormon" and "Ain't Misbehavin," the latter of which she was part of the Grammy-nominated cast recording. She also starred as Effie in the Broadway National Tour of "Dreamgirls." In 2011, she debuted an EP produced by Chaz Shepherd. Patrice's voice also might be recognized from her numerous national radio voiceovers, including McDonald's successful "There's something new to love" campaign.

Jesse Nager, a native New Yorker, ended the Broadway run of MOTOWN the Musical, of which the NY Times called his "honeyed tenor a perfect match for Smokey Robinson." He has also appeared on Broadway in MAMMA MIA, the original Broadway companies of MARY POPPINS, GOOD VIBRATIONS, and SCANDALOUS. Jesse has had the incredible opportunity to sing with Mariah Carey and Shania Twain, both at Madison Square Garden. He has also performed with Patti LaBelle, Jason Mraz, Joe Pesci, and many more. He can also be heard on both seasons of NBC's "Smash" and the soundtrack to the movie "Hairspray." Jesse is the founder and Artistic Director of The Broadway Boys, a collection of singers from different Broadway shows who rearrange traditional musical theater repertoire with elements of pop/funk/gospel. Jesse is also a long time member of The Broadway Inspirational Voices.

Concert begins at 10:00 pm. Free standing room admission with limited advanced reserved seating available from $10-$25. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. To purchase tickets, visit 42sevenproductions.com.
