Broadway leading lady Janet Dacal will bring her passionate Cuban roots to the Great American Songbook for one night only, Sunday, April 13th at 7:30 PM, at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles, 1714 N. Vermont Avenue. The fusion of musical genres and intoxicating rhythms will culminate in an immersive sound brought to life by Janet's sultry vocal styling.

Janet will sing a selection of American standards, including "I Got Rhythm," "My Funny Valentine" and "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)," as well as an array of impassioned Latin songs, among them "Un Canto a Mi Cuba," "Lagrimas Negras" and "La Gloria Eres Tu," to name a few. Her command and understanding of the repertoire, along with her electrifying ensemble of musicians, will transport you and leave you spellbound.

Janet, a Los Angeles native, has a successful and extensive career in music and theater. Her musical influences range in genres, finding inspiration from the likes of Sarah Vaughn to Celia Cruz. Her music career began under the wing of Grammy-winning artist Gloria Estefan, recording background vocals on a number of her albums. Other artists she's worked with include Ricky Martin, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Jon Secada. Following her time with the Estefans, Janet toured the world with Latin recording artist, Luis Enrique.

Life's journey then took Janet to New York City, where she realized her childhood dream of performing on Broadway. She has starred in several Broadway productions, including the Tony and Grammy Award-winning mega-hit In The Heights. After having originated the role of Carla in the original Off-Broadway and Broadway productions, for which she received a Drama Desk Award, she took over the title role of Nina Rosario. Most recently, she starred as Alice in Frank Wildhorn's musical Wonderland. She can be heard on the original cast recordings for both In The Heights and Wonderland.

Janet has had the great pleasure to perform in renowned establishments such as Birdland and The Apollo Theatre in New York. She has been nominated for Carbonell Awards for her work in The Last 5 Years and Five Course Love. Janet is a founding member of the District Stage Company, a theatrical force based in Miami, and tours the world as a symphony concert vocalist with New York Pops conductor, Steven Reineke.
