Betty Buckley Coming to The Walls & Annenberg in January; Sets Los Angeles Workshop

Legendary Broadway star, actress/singer Betty Buckley will be performing the songs from her recently released album GHOSTLIGHT, produced by 13 time GRAMMY Award Winner T Bone Burnett in a concert featuring a six piece band at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles on January 24, 2015. Buckley will also be performing on January 17th at the Annenberg in Palm Springs with pianist Christian Jacob.

Recently, Buckley had a successful sold out 7 show run at JOE'S PUB in New York City, of this same show. In response to the concert, The New York Times' reviewer Stephen Holden raved, "In uncovering the truths in song lyrics, Ms. Buckley might be described as a heart surgeon. The main attraction is the voice and sensibility of an interpreter who can take you to the center of the earth all by herself."

In addition, Buckley will offer a special Song Interpretation & Monologue Workshop in Los Angeles beginning January 18. The Tony Winner will assist aspiring artists, educators and experienced performers in the craft of singing, acting and storytelling. Her emotional connection to songs and audiences is renowned, and that very connection is at the heart of what Ms. Buckley imparts to her students.

The class welcomes auditors, at a reduced rate, who participate in all aspects of the

class - including powerful group exercises and work with partners - except the

Individual singing and monologue coaching by Ms. Buckley.

Collaboration Factory is an award winning Los Angeles based Production Company, specializing in Music based entertainment for film, television and music video projects.

The workshop will consist of four sessions beginning for new students on Sunday, January 18 to Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Returning students will attend Monday, January 19th to Thursday, January 22nd,. New Students may take the 5th class on Thursday as well, at additional cost. Each session will be from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Most recently Ms. Buckley's guest starred on the HBO series "Getting On". She starred in the Signature Theatre's World premiere of Horton Foote's "The Old Friends" and received a Drama Desk nomination for her work. and starred in the London Premiere of Jerry Herman's "Dear World" at the Charring Cross Theater in the lead role as Countess Aurelia. Previous to that, Betty appeared in the Dallas Theatre Center's smash hit "Arsenic and Old Lace. The Tony award winner has thrilled audiences with acclaimed performances in such legendary Broadway shows as Sunset Boulevard, Cats, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and 1776. Her highly praised starring role in the M. Night Shyamalan feature film The Happening, joins her other memorable film performances including Tender Mercies, Frantic, and Carrie. She appeared in the Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg mini-series The Pacific on HBO. . In 2010 Ms. Buckley starred Off-Broadway in White's Lies. In 2009, Ms. Buckley was honored with the Texas Medal of Arts Award for Theater and was inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame in 2007. She also has an extensive concert career and brought her new show Ah Men! The Boys of Broadway to the prestigious Feinstein's nightclub in NYC for the month of October in 2011. This show was recorded as her 15th album and released in 2012. For her engagement at Feinstein's in 2010, The New York Times' Stephen Holden acclaimed, "Betty Buckley was at the very top of her game." The actor-singer works regularly in concert with her ensemble of musicians. Her solo CD, Stars and the Moon: Betty Buckley Live at the Donmar Warehouse, received a Grammy nomination. In 2007, she released the CD Betty Buckley 1967, which hit the Billboard charts. In 2008, Playbill and Sony BMG Broadway Masterworks released Quintessence with her quintet. She released Ah Men: The Boys of Broadway in 2012, and her new album Ghostlight, produced by the legendary T Bone Burnett, was released on September 16, 2014.
