Heather Dowling's award-winning solo show, Unemployed. Finally. has been invited to be a part of Theatre Asylum/Combined Artform's Beyond Encores, launching this October at Studio C in Hollywood. BEYOND ENCORES is an opportunity for artists and audiences to revisit some of the best shows from the last seven years of the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Dowling was asked to be part of Beyond Encores as a result of her show's on-going success since the 2015 Fringe. Most recently, Unemployed. Finally. was invited to the line-up for United Solo on 42nd Street in New York City - the largest solo festival in the world. Earlier this year, the show was on stage for Whitefire Theatre's 6th Annual Solofest and then invited for a 6-week run at the venue, as well as Theatre Unleashed's Spotlight Series, and Cake Batter's Funny Women Festival at IO West.

"All of these wonderful opportunities to perform have brought a finer polish to the show, for sure." Dowling says. "This is a genuine, funny, and sometimes sad story about a woman who comes to a point in life where she has the courage to go for what she wants. And I'm inviting others to consider that, no matter what they've been through, no matter what their journey has looked like, they really can newly create the life they want, a life they love."

Unemployed. Finally. is the story of a woman who tried on more than 30 jobs in 30 years before finally doing what everyone said she couldn't. As Dowling says, she is an actress and writer who impersonated someone who wanted a "real job" since she was 14. Accomplished solo-performer and director, Jessica Lynn Johnson, refined Dowling's performance, helping her craft the 70-minute story spanning those 30 years, and bringing nearly 40 different characters to life to tell her story.

The curtain will go up for Unemployed. Finally. at 7:00 pm, Saturday, Oct. 1st at Studio C, 6448 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90038. Tickets are $15, available at TheEncoreAwards.com.
