Based on the play by Philip Barry, The Philadelphia Story is a 1942 radio comedy about a witty divorcee caught between her ex-husband, her new fiancé, and a tabloid reporter sent to cover her society wedding.
The Philadelphia Story is the first of a three-part Fall Radio Drama Series produced by Port Washington Play Troupe and WCWP (88.1 FM, the community public radio station of LIU Post), featuring vintage radio scripts and songs from the era. Performances are recorded in front of a live studio audience for later broadcast.
The series will continue with The War of the Worlds (Thursday, October 30 at 8pm) and conclude with It's a Wonderful Life (Saturday, November 22 at 1pm).
