Calling all young, budding writers! WHBPAC's Arts Education Program is looking for teens ages 12-18 to participate in its brand new, week-long Playwriting Intensive with professional playwright, Jonathan Dorf, Monday-Friday, July 13-17 from 10am-3pm at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. The intensive culminates in a reading of students' original ten-minute plays, featuring WHBPAC teen actors.

No experience is necessary. The fee for the program is $450. For more information or to register, contact Marissa Russo at MarissaR@whbpac.org or (631) 288-2350, ext 112.

The play's the thing in this brand-new one week intensive with Jonathan Dorf, a Los Angeles-based playwright and screenwriter whose plays have been produced over 1000 times, including productions in every US state, as well as around the world! Young dramatists will learn all about translating creativity to the stage, as they write monologues, scenes and ultimately, plays, in a master class setting. Jonathan Dorf will bring out the best in their creative minds as they explore a new field of performing arts and gain valuable, transferrable skills. We could not be more excited to work with such a talented and accomplished playwright!

"We produced one of Mr. Dorf's plays, 4am, a few years back with our Teen Theatre Troupe, and I was immediately struck by the honesty of the scenes he wrote. It was clear that Jonathan understands teenagers on a level most adults do not, and I just so admired his writing. I went out on a limb and asked him if he would ever consider coming to the East Coast to work with our students, and to my delight he agreed! We're all so excited to see what our budding playwrights come up with under his expert tutelage!"

Don't miss your chance to be a part of this new and innovative program at WHBPAC!
