On Saturday, March 4, the innovative dance theater company, Neo-Political Cowgirls, will kick off their winter season by presenting their annual theatrical scavenger hunt, ZIMA! Partnering once again with The Montauk Playhouse, NPC is in their 7th year delivering this cold-season favorite.

"The word 'Zima' is Polish for winter," said Kate Mueth, NPC Artistic Director and Founder, "so the backdrop for this performance couldn't be more fitting." ZIMA! will be an interactive winter journey, combining mystery, poetry, theater and exploration. Participants will be given various clues while watching vignettes along their way through town and attempt to solve the given mystery. ZIMA! uses the elements of the outdoors to invite the audience to embrace the season and enjoy its unique qualities.

The journey begins at the Village Green in Montauk. From 2 PM, groups will depart every 20 minutes with the final group leaving at 2:40 PM. All tickets can be purchased at the event on the green at $5 per person. Perfect for all ages.

Additionally, on February 12, the Neo-Political Cowgirls will be hosting Eve Ensler's global movement One Billion Rising (for the Retreat) - an afternoon of music, movement, and community conversation to raise awareness about domestic violence. Appropriate for all ages, the event benefits The Retreat- the only domestic violence shelter on the East End. The performance is free for all, but donations for The Retreat are accepted at the door. It begins at 2:00 PM.

Anyone who may like to take part as a performer should contact Kate at npcowgirls@gmail.com.

The Neo-Political Cowgirls is a not-for-profit dance theater company dedicated to exploring and celebrating the female voice. Founded in 2007 by Kate Mueth, we are committed to making work that puts women's stories center stage and creating a space where women and girls from all walks of life can share their experiences, joys, concerns, and spirits through professional dance theater. Storytellers at heart, NPC encourages their audience members to feel involved. Their site-specific projects are ground-breaking and invigorating, and they believe in removing conventional walls that traditionally separate audience and actors.

Actor, Director, Choreographer Kate Mueth founded her award winning The Neo-Political Cowgirls in 2007 to help fill the dearth of women's voices and opportunities on the American stage. Since then, NPC has staged a multitude of newly conceived, rule- breaking Theater Productions that have engaged and excited theatergoers from their home base in East Hampton, NY, to Berlin and New York City's Off-Broadway.
