Dancers Responding to AIDS Offers Fire Island Dance Festival Day-Trip VIP Package

Escape for the day to Fire Island Pines and enjoy VIP treatment with a special Fire Island Dance Festival day-trip package just announced by Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The day trip on Sunday, July 17, features a delicious champagne luncheon and tickets to the 5 pm performance of the dance festival. The package also includes round-trip transportation to Fire Island Pines from midtown Manhattan. Tickets also are available in the Fire Island Pines Harbor on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am - 1 pm.

This year's Fire Island Dance Festival (#fidance), one of the most talked about cultural and charitable events of the Fire Island summer, will include a duet by acclaimed choreographer Brian Brooks and ballet world legend Wendy Whelan, Ballet Contemporáneo de Camagüey Cuba's first performance in the United States, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Gallim Dance, KEIGWIN + COMPANY, MADBOOTS DANCE, Glenn Allen Sims and Linda Celeste Sims of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and choreography by Al Blackstone, Abdul Latif and Darrell Grand Moultrie.

The festival will be hosted by the inimitable Tituss Burgess, a Broadway favorite and Emmy Award nominee for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Fire Island Dance Festival features three performances on a waterfront stage overlooking the Great South Bay. The festival's two Saturday performances are sold out. Individual tickets to Sunday's performance are still available.

Fire Island Dance Festival is a unique occasion where audiences and dancers come together to make a difference. Last year's festival raised a record-breaking $544,555. Since its first installment in 1995, the event has raised more than $4.3 million, helping ensure that those in need throughout the New York area and in all 50 states receive lifesaving medications and health care, nutritious meals, counseling and emergency financial assistance.
