The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) has announced BOO! A MONSTER MUSICAL on Sunday, October 26th at 2:00 and 4:00 PM. Boo! A Monster Musical will be performed Live in the Lobby and is a production of The New Musicals Project, which began its run at the PTPA in 2011, and is now a cooperative venture between PTPA and Worldwide Voices, both 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, volunteer driven organizations. The New Musicals Project is the only Long Island repertory company whose primary mission is to develop and produce original musical plays. Company members include theatre folk, playgoers and volunteers who are passionate about being part of the future development of the uniquely American art form of musical theatre. This interactive concert revival of Boo! A Monster Musical features a script by Northport native Joe Pospisil and songs by Patchogue's own Howard Beckerman, and is suitable for kids (and adults) of all ages!

Sunday, October 26th at 2:00 & 4:00 PM The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts Lobby, 71 E. Main St., Patchogue $10 general admission tickets for children and adults alike. Lobby performances are a combination of seating and standing room; SEATING IS LIMITED. Doors open 1/2 hour prior to show time. The musical Boo! was commissioned by the Central Park Conservancy and performed as "Halloween at Belvedere" outdoors at Belvedere Castle for four Halloweens in Central Park. Come in costume if you wish!

Our story begins when eleven-year-old Harold Owen Ween sets out on a mission to stop the "World Holiday Commission" from cancelling the Halloween holiday--they say because of low candy and costume sales. During his travels, Hal meets a trio of recently unemployed and good-natured monsters whose very livelihood depends on the survival of Halloween. It isn't long before they join Hal and the audience on their quest to save the holiday from extinction.

Boo! A Monster Musical is pleased to be scheduled during the PAC MAC Festival 2014. The festival is a downtown-centric, multi-day, multi-venue festival encompassing (M)usic, (A)rts, and (C)inema from October 17-26, 2014 in the Village of Patchogue, NY.
