Carlos Mencia, Bill Cosby and Bill Engvall get the summer in gear with performances at Treasure Island Theatre, beginning May 6.

Carlos Mencia began his stand-up career performing at The Laugh Factory during amateur night and quickly rose to superstar status. His television buzz began with being named "International Comedy Grand Champion" on Buscando Estrellas, the Latino version of Star Search. The floodgates of his career opened up leading to a slew of television appearances and the series Mind of Mencia on Comedy Central. He has also appeared in numerous movies including American Wedding with America Ferrera and Forrest Whittaker. Mencia has performed in national USO comedy tours, starred in HBO comedy specials and is currently working on a new standup special.

The quintessential television father, Bill Cosby, will return to the Treasure Island stage to grace audiences with his decades of comedy experience. Known the world over for The Cosby Show, which ran from 1984 to 1992 on NBC, Cosby broke racial barriers and sent a powerful message to viewers - that the family unit and raising children matters most. The top-rated show, which many credited for single-handedly resurrecting the television sitcom, earned six Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes and 10 People's Choice Awards. Cosby won the 2009 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor from The Kennedy Center, and is now available in cyber world with a new "Bill Cosby" phone app.
What began as a shot in the dark at a Texas nightclub quickly launched funnyman Bill Engvall to comedic superstardom. The Galveston native originally aspired to be a teacher when he discovered his gift for making people laugh. Engvall is noted for his performance in the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" which turned into a movie. He has written several books including his autobiography, "Bill Engvall - Just A Guy." Television credits include starring in and serving as executive producer of The Bill Engvall Show, hosting Country Fried Home Videos and, in June, his new game show Lingo will debut.

Tickets for each show can be purchased at www.treasureisland.com or by calling (800) 392-1999 or (702) 894-7722.
