The Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip will host reggae sensations Katchafire Sunday, September 18th. Joining them will be island reggae group, Haleamano, and Las Vegas locals, Fortwentydaze.

Originally from Hamilton, New Zealand, the all Maori group was formed in 1997 as a Bob Marley tribute band, but eventually evolved into writing and performing their own music. Katchafire's name comes from Bob Marley and The Wailers' 1973 debut album release, Catch a Fire. The band has released four very successful albums: Revival (2003) which feature the highest-selling New Zealand single of the year, "Giddy Up", Slow Burning (2005), Say What You're Thinking (2007) and the most recent release, On the Road Again (2010).

Katchafire has toured across the world and has played alongside international reggae acts such as: Damien Marley, Steel Pulse, Collie Buddz, Sean Kingston, and was the only Pacific acts to tour as part of the 2008 "Raggamuffin" tour.

Katchafire's newest album, On the Road Again, was inspired by the band's recent worldwide touring. With this new album, the band brings to the front a surprising diversity and depth. The stylistic and sonic range heard on the album's 12 songs is derived from the band embracing the open table approach, which is each songwriter producing their own songs. The end result is eclectic collaboration of individualized, yet harmonious selections.

The band is currently touring the U.S., Australia and New Zealand promoting On the Road Again.
