Broadway Bound and Studio One's Summerlin Dance Academy will present the theater production of 9 To 5 The Musical at the Summerlin Library Theater tonight, September 12 - 27, 2014 for twelve memorable performances, including matinee and evening show times, sponsored and supported by the Rudy Foundation.

Based on the 1980 feature film of the same name, 9 to 5 The Musical is the recipient of four Tony Award nominations and has been enjoyed by many through several national and international tour productions. Set in the late 1970s, a time long before the social prevalence of female businesses powerhouses such as media mogul Oprah Winfrey or Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour, 9 to 5 The Musical tells the story of Violet, Judy, and Doralee - three female coworkers who concoct a plan to get even with the egotistical, lying, tyrant they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, the trio gets to live out their wildest fantasy of giving their boss the boot, giving their office a serious makeover, and taking control of the company that constantly dragged them down. High-energy musical numbers, and an intriguing story filled with friendship, revenge, and even a little romance, are brought to life on stage by Broadway Bound's troupe of talented young performers.

"Our program is no stranger to providing audiences with high-energy performances that showcase the talent of the young performers in our community," said Michael Vojvodich, director and instructor of Broadway Bound. "The kids and I are so excited for this production of 9 to 5 The Musical and we're especially excited to share the laughs and toe-tapping numbers with the audiences." Vojvodich's credits include title roles in Jesus Christ Superstar and Jekyll and Hyde, and collaborations with musical theater legends such as Jerry Herman, Susan Egan, Michael McElroy and Marvin Hamlisch.

The Broadway Bound program at Studio One's Summerlin Dance Academy is the first of its kind in Las Vegas not only to provide its students instruction in acting technique, singing and dancing, but also to offer youth in the community opportunities to be cast in full-scale, multi-show productions. Net proceeds from Broadway Bound shows are donated to Broadway Bound Kidz, a non-profit organization, which is committed to the enrichment, entertainment and education of young people in a theater arts and dance environment.

Performances of 9 to 5 The Musical can be seen at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sunday and Monday evenings, along with 1 p.m. matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.broadwayboundlv.com or by calling (702) 838-5131.
