This autumn, Beit Zvi School of the Performing Arts presents Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, playing at the Ramat-Gan Theatre, while Ha'Sifriya (Library) Theatre stages The 39 Steps, playing at the Ha'Sifriya Theatre's Gary Bilu hall.


The 39 Steps

A spy comedy based on Hitchcock's thriller film, The 39 Steps.

Richard Hannay, a guy in his late 30s, arrives one evening to a theatre and finds himself swept an international spying case and is being mistakenly accused of a murder.

While trying to prove his innocence he is caught inside adventures behind which is hidden a highly classified secret.

Will he find out who the real spy is?

Cast includes Beit Zvi graduates: Uri Shilo (Richard Hannay), Sivane Kretchner (Pamela, Annabella, Margaret), Yossi Toledo (Policeman and others), Yossi Zabari (Policeman and others).

The opening of the Ha'Sifriya (Library) Theatre in October 1984, with support from the Arts and Culture division of the Municipality of Ramat-Gan, saw the establishment of a professional theatre with the express goal of providing Beit Zvi graduates, among others, with opportunities for further professional development and exposure. In the past 32 years up until today over 200 different productions were presented at the Ha'Sifriya Theatre. In 2002 the theatre became recognized as a repertoire theatre by the Ministry of Culture and according to the support from the public.
