The hugely powerful play "Eden" comes to Roscommon Arts Centre for One Night Only tonight, 1st October, 8pm. Remember the hugely successful RTE programme "Pure Mule"? Well, "Eden" is the play that inspired it!

It's the tragic and sometimes funny story of an ordinary relationship on an extraordinary weekend, a tale of stale love and fresh lust in the Irish midlands. Billy and Breda are approaching their tenth wedding anniversary. Breda is determined that this will be the weekend that saves their marriage. But Billy is more concerned with Imelda, the beautiful young ride of a thing he has his eye on. As the weekend approaches, Billy becomes more distant, while Breda clings desperately to the hope that their anniversary weekend will save them.

Bringing together a stellar cast of 'Patrick Ryan (Trivia, Pure Mule) and Lesley Conroy (Mattie, The Clinic) this promises to be a major theatrical event. The production is directed by Andrew Flynn. Set Design by Ger Sweeney, costumes by Petra Bhreatnach, Sound Design by Carl Kennedy. Tickets are €16/€14 and are available from Roscommon Arts Centre's box office on 090 6625824 or online www.roscommonartscentre.ie.

"Eden" won Best New Play at the Irish Times Theatre Awards and Best New Play at the Stewart Parker Awards in 2001.

Galway based Decadent Theatre Company have been steadily attracting popular and critical attention with touring productions of plays such as "Faith Healer", "Port Authority" and "A Skull in Connemara". Decadent were nominated for three Irish Times Theatre Awards in 2012.
