Phoenix Theatre to Present COCK (THE COCKFIGHT PLAY), 6/12-7/6

Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces c*ck(The c*ckFight Play). Opening June 12th, 2014 in the Livia and Steve Russell Stage at the Phoenix, this show runs through July 6th, 2014 and will be directed by the Producing Director of the Phoenix Theatre Bryan Fonseca.

Cock (The c*ckFight Play) is a provocative, tense comedy written by Mike Bartlett about one man's choice of which path of love to take. Earning rave reviews from London and New York audiences, this piece pushes the boundaries of our comfort level without becoming sensational. The Livia and Steve Russell Stage has undergone a complete transformation, with stadium seating, simulating the raw elements of a c*ckfighting ring.

Taking a break from his longtime boyfriend, the last thing John expects is to fall in love with a woman. Suddenly he is caught in an emotional love triangle with two sides demanding a decision in their favor. Bartlett complicates the situation by adding a supportive but traditional father figure rallying for the boyfriend's cause.

Sarah McGee is making her Phoenix Theatre debut. An Ohio transplant taking some time off to raise children, Sarah roars back to the stage playing W, the new female love interest of John.

Scot Greenwell is fresh from his role in Bless Me, Ultima and plays M, the boyfriend. He has appeared in over 20 productions at the Phoenix as well as at the Indiana Repertory Theatre and Beef and Boards.

Brad Griffith returns to Indianapolis and the Phoenix Theatre by way of Chicago. Brad recalls being a part of early Phoenix productions such as Warp, and Glen Gary Glen Ross. He will play the father figure known as F.

Chris Roe played an emotionally torn sibling earlier this season in Spun, and now he'll find himself in the middle of a tug of war for his heart in the role of John. Chris's recent work has been with The Shakespeare Project of Chicago where he currently resides.

Tickets for c*ck(The c*ckFight Play) are on sale now. The entire first weekend are CheapSeats performances. Tickets are just $18.00 per person. All remaining performances are $28.00 per person, or $18.00 for anyone 21 & under.
