The Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre presents The Casket Girls at Pike Performing Arts Center from Thursday, October 29, 2009 and Friday, October 30 at 8:00 pm.

This modern-gothic-alternative-vampire ballet debuts this Halloween season, but be aware, this is NOT your grandmother's version of ballet. Casket Girls combines beautiful images and drama with dancing vampires, nuns, romance, love, and murder-all set to music that blends styles from Mozart to Nine Inch Nails. Gregory Hancock will be setting his unique and powerful choreography to a specially commissioned score written by award-winning composer Cory Gabel. ??The term "The Casket Girls" (or Coffin Girls) refers to an actual vampire/ghost legend in New Oreleans circa 1750. Along with this world-premiere piece, Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre will also present their popular "witch piece", The Visit, and new additions to the highly acclaimed New Orleans Voodoo piece, Papa Legba. Another dark offering from GHDT you will not want to miss this fall!
