Civic Theatre Names Robert Shoquist as Co-Production Manager/Technical Director

Fort Wayne Civic Theatre has selected Robert Shoquist as Co-Production Manager/Technical Director effective November 1, 2011. Shoquist comes most recently from New York where he worked as a free lance scenic designer for Harbor Lights Theater Company, Apt 29 Productions-Studio Theatre @ Theatre Row and The Workshop Theatre.

In addition Shoquist served as the Scenic Designer/Technical Director for the Allenberry Playhouse in Boiling Springs, PA in 2010. He has provided scenic design for productions at the West Virginia Public Theatre (WV), Diamante Productions (IL), Citadel Theatre (IL), The High School Institute (IL), Northwestern University (IL) and Boise State University (ID). Shoquist is a Kennedy Center/ACTF Meritorious Achievement Award Winner in Scenic Design for Life is a Dream (2004) and Proof (2005). He is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT).

Shoquist received a B.A. in Theatre Arts (Design/Directing) from Boise State University and a M.F.A. in Stage Design (Scenic/Lighting) from Northwestern University. While at Northwestern he was an Instructor and Assistant Instructor for Design Process courses.

"Civic Theatre is thrilled to attract an individual with Robert's credentials to our staff. He will join Ashley Screech Owens as co-production manager overseeing all technical aspects of staging our shows. Robert's position will include working with our talented volunteer base in the areas of design execution, set building, painting, audio, lighting...all of the components that bring our productions to the stage," explains Executive/Artistic Director Phillip H. Colglazier.
