New Zealand born, London based artist/producer, Jordan Rakei has quickly become one of the most respected and sought-after musicians in modern music. Debuting in September 2013, with the self-released 6-track EP titled "Franklin's Room", he has gone on to establish himself as one of the forerunners of today's new soul music movement, earning the respect of his peers Hiatus Kaiyote, Tom Misch, Questlove, Gilles Peterson, Disclosure, Annie Mac and Mary Anne Hobbs. As well as now having three releases under his belt, Jordan has made a name for himself with some choice features throughout his tenure. Lending his vocals to upcoming and hip artists such as Tom Misch and REMI, to more established artists like Disclosure.

An artist that is trying to change the blueprint, Jordan Rakei will be playing live as Dan Kye at Def. Col. Social on Thursday, April 20. Through Jordan's interest in dance music, he began creating remixes of his own work. After performing several solo-electronic sets and experimenting with original dance tracks, Jordan began taking his new direction seriously and thus Dan Kye was born. In December 2016, Dan Kye released his first EP on Peckham-based label Rhythm Section. He has since performed a sold-out headline show at Camden Assembly, performed live on Giles Peterson's Worldwide FM and was selected by BBC's Mary Anne Hobbs for 6 Music Recommends. He has also garnered significant support from Bonobo, Lefto, Maribou State, Claude VonStroke and Bradley Zero.

So, head over and jam to some nifty new tunes of Dan Kye on Thursday.
