Casting Announced for ALADDIN in India; Tickets On Sale Tomorrow

TelevisionPost.com reports that Disney India is set to bring ALADDIN to Mumbai in April 2018. After their success with Beauty and the Beast, Disney India announced they will bring a Broadway-style production of the beloved musical ALADDIN to the stage, promising it will be full of the magic and comedy that fans of the movie and current Broadway production know and love.

Aladdin is set to play in Mumbai beginning April 20th, and will also have runs in Delhi, and Hyderabad. The production is set to be the first locally produced, non-replica production, specifically for Indian audiences.

The production is directed by Shruti Sharma, choreographed by Bertwin D'Souza, designed by Varsha Jain and Gavin Miguel, and features music direction and vocal coaching by Dhruv Ghanekar and Suzane D'Mello.

The production will star Siddharth Menon and Taaruk Raina in the title role, Kira Narayanan as Jasmine, Mantra as Genie, and Roshan Abbas and Vikrant Chaturvedi as Jafar.

The stage version of ALADDIN is based on the 1992 film of the same name, and opened on Broadway with Disney Theatrical Productions in 2011. It has seen huge success, including multiple international and regional productions as well as a North American tour that continues through summer 2018.

ALADDIN features music by Tony Award and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, with lyrics by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman and three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow via BookMyShow.
