The Rice Players will present THE ALTRUISTS, an exhilarating comedy reveling in political incorrectness, set amongst a community of hipsters in New York, New York. This dark and well-meaning satire is told in the unique voice of the "bad-boy playwright of off-broadway", Nicky Silver.

THE ALTRUISTS tells the story of a dedicated, if disorganized and demented, group of young radicals. These are the kids who protest. They protest arts funding and arms funding. They protest school cutbacks and AIDS cutbacks and welfare cutbacks. They march for gay rights and children's rights and Women Against Drunk Drivers. But what will happen when their own lives smack them in the face?

Come for a night of laughing out loud and fresh perspective, directed by Susannah Morgan Eig.
