TRIASSIC PARQ THE MUSICAL Plays Bayou City Theatrics, Now thru 8/9

TRIASSIC PARQ THE MUSICAL, winner of the 2010 New York Fringe Festival, is a raunchy ride through the Triassic period! Utilizing the basic plot of iconic dinosaur film, Jurassic Park, TRIASSIC PARQ reveals "the true story," from the perspective of the dinosaurs.

Morgan Freeman, the quintessential narrator, begins the story by introducing a theme-park island where dinosaurs have been brought back to life via mosquito DNA (with a bit of frog thrown in) and put on display. Though it is assured that this plot-point "probably won't come into play," all of the dinosaurs are all ladies, making sure to prevent reproduction. TRIASSIC PARQ centers around the Velociraptor of Innocence (Luke Hamilton), T-Rex 2 (Miatta Lebile), and her best friend, T-Rex 1 (Derrien Kellum) and their journey of self-discovery. Unsure of their origin and being, the dinosaurs have formed a religion (all praise Lab, giver of goats), led by the Velociraptor of Faith (Jake Frank). On a morning like all others, their dino-prayer-assembly is derailed by T-Rex 2 discovering a strange new growth. T-Rex 2 is immediately banished from the tribe because of her "six-inch monstrosity," and the entire tribe is thrown into turmoil. Determined to find answers to her questions, the Velociraptor of Innocence sets out with her cuddly cow companion, portrayed by the Mimeosaurus (Christian Quiroga), to find "the exiled one" - the Velociraptor of Science (Heather Hall).

TRIASSIC PARQ is far from your typical night at the theatre! With side-splitting book and lyrics by Marshall Pailet, Bryce Norbitz and Stephen Wargo and infectious music, also by Marshall Pailet, TRIASSIC PARQ aims to offend in the best way possible! Prepare to witness hilariously foul-mouthed dinos, snappy choreography and a driving rock score that (according to "studies") may cause "spontaneous combustion via laughter and/or dangerous sexy feelings." Six lucky audiences members will also be selected every night for on-stage seating, getting up close and personal with the cast of raucous dinos.

TRIASSIC PARQ is recommended for mature audiences due to strong language, and subject matter. TRIASSIC PARQ is not recommended for children, vegans or Republicans.

The show runs today, July 31 - August 9, playing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm. at The Kaleidoscope, 705 Main, Suite B (entrance on Capitol St.) Houston, TX 77002.
