HITS Theatre starts the spring season in style with the production of CRAZY FOR YOU, a Tony award-winning musical at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park at 6000 Hermann Park Drive with performances scheduled for March 31, April 1, 2, 7, 8, 9 at 8 p.m.

CRAZY FOR YOU is a high-energy comedy of mistaken identities, plot twists, fabulous costumes and dances, and classic Gershwin music. It is the story of Bobby Child, a stage-struck NYC banker who heads to desolate Deadrock, Nevada to foreclose a rundown theater. It's love at first sight when he runs into spunky Polly Baker, the theater owner's daughter, who doesn't realize he's the heartless businessman she's vowed to get even with.

Based on the 1930 musical Girl Crazy with a book by Ken Ludwig, this Gershwin extravaganza is filled with song, dance, and hilarious dialogue. Audiences will be swept up in this artfully constructed tale of boy meeting girl in the Wild West, where they ultimately fall in love.

Led by director Chesley Santoro Krohn, and starring 16-year-old Caroline Cox, who plays Polly Baker, the only woman in the forlorn town of Deadrock, Nevada, and 16-year-old Sean Holshouser, who plays Bobby Child, who is sent to Deadrock, to foreclose a theatre.

Caroline Cox is a student at Mirabeau B. Lamar H.S., an International Baccalaureate School, is a member of the National Honor Society and is a 2-time recipient of the President's Volunteer Service Award. She has performed at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Legally Blonde, The Addams Family, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Ragtime, Hairspray and Cats.

"HITS Theatre has been my 'home away from home' since 2008 when I was in the fourth grade. I, along with many of my friends, have quite literally grown up as a HITS Kid,' Cox stated. "I love that HITS Theatre has such a great history in the community with one of their most well-known collaborations being the annual spring musical production at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park."

At 16, Sean Holshouser has already had multiple performance opportunities in venues big and small, inside and outside of Houston. As a boy soprano soloist, he performed on four occasions with the Houston Symphony, performed as "Harry" in the Moores School of Music's production of "Albert Herring," joined the Houston Grand Opera in "Peter Grimes," and won the role of "Amahl" in "Amahl and the Night Visitors" with the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra.

"HITS Theatre has been a huge part of my life for over seven years, and it has changed the course of my life as a performer in a hugely positive way," stated Holshouser. "The environment is very welcoming and open, especially around the time of the Miller Outdoor Theatre shows. The energy builds as everyone sees the show come together, and the joy we feel when we all see the positive reactions of the various audiences is unparalleled."

Holshouser also has a large YouTube following; most notable, his version of "In Dreams" from The Lord of the Rings is one of the most popular on the site, with nearly 100,000 views. He is also a member of the Broadway Artists Alliance in New York City, and is the youngest performing member in the Houston Symphony Chorus.

This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. If tickets remain at 1 p.m., the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets.
