Firecracker Productions announces the Houston Premiere of Belleville by Amy Herzog, co-produced with Obsidian Theater.

Belleville follows young Americans Zack and Abby in their perfect ex-pat life in Paris: a funky bohemian apartment in up-and-coming Belleville; a stable marriage; and Zack's noble mission to fight pediatric AIDS. But when Abby finds Zack at home one afternoon when he's supposed to be at work, the questions and answers that follow shake the foundation of their seemingly beautiful life.

Kelsey McMillan directs this production, which runs December 4-19 at Obsidian Theater. Tickets are available online at www.ObsidianTheater.org.

"I was first attracted to Belleville because of its profound realness," McMillan says. "But I was hooked by the creeping tension that builds through the play creating a palpable sense of desperation and suspense."

Belleville won the 2012 New York Times Outstanding Playwright Award, and was a finalist for both the 2013 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and the 2013 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play. Amy Herzog was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for another play-"4000 Miles".

The cast of Belleville includes Jo Ganner as Abby, Nolan LeGault as Zack, Danielle Bunch as Amina, and Jerry Nwosuocha as Alioune.
