The Texas Repertory Theatre Co., Houston's Uptown Classic Theatre, opens its 11th Anniversary "Emerging Visions" Season with a new staging of the Steven Dietz comedy Becky's New Car, opening tonight, August 27th, and playing 4 performances a week through September 20th.

Becky Foster doesn't have a half-bad life; it's just stuck in neutral. She has a decent job at a car dealership, a solid husband and a freeloading psych-major son living in her basement. She isn't exactly unhappy. But she can't help but wonder what else is out there. Then an honest misunderstanding with a wealthy widower offers Becky the chance at an exciting double life. Things quickly accelerate out of her control, leaving a mountain of cover-ups along the way. Mishaps turn to mischief and Becky finds herself asking the audience for advice. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy the hilarity and U-turn plot twists as Becky leads us down the road less traveled.

The Texas Repertory Theatre production of Becky's New Car features a cast of Houston's finest performers, including David LaDuca, Jeffrey S. Lane, James Monoghan, Marylin Ocker, Robin Van Zandt, and Texas Rep Artistic Director Steven Fenley under the direction of Dan O'brien, Director of Texas Repertory hits Smokey Joe's Café, Beehive, and The World Goes Round.
