SOMETHING INTANGIBLE, THE GOD GAME, ALL MY SONS and More Set for Gulfshore Playhouse's 2013-2014 Season
Gulfshore Playhouse is preparing their 2013-2014 season with five diverse productions, running from November to April.
"I am proud to uphold our mission to provide a wonderful spectrum of great plays from brand new works to time-tested classics with supremely talented actors and at affordable prices," states Kristen Coury, Gulfshore Playhouse Founder and Producing Artistic Director.
Opening the Gulfshore Playhouse 2013-2014 mainstage season is Something Intangible by Bruce Graham, playing November 1 - 24, with a pay-what-you-can preview performance on October 29 and a $25 preview performance on October 30. Set among the glitz and glamour of 1940's Hollywood, this lush new award-winning drama goes inside the movie studio and inside the lives of two brothers. One is the creative genius responsible for bringing the first animated feature film to the screen and the other is his loyal brother, who struggles to keep the money coming in to fund the next big dream, a feature length animated film set to classical music that will ultimately change the film industry forever. With deft wit and endearing humanity, Something Intangible explores the ties that bind, artistic inspiration, and that intangible something that can elevate the mundane to the sublime.
In December, bring the whole family for Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol by Tom Mula. This heartfelt reimagining of Dickens' classic tale of redemption invites you into the heroic behind-the-scenes efforts of Jacob Marley as he attempts to save Scrooge's soul, and in the process, his own. Celebrate your holidays with us with this funny and deeply moving story, told with daring theatricality and warmth by Artistic Associate Cody Nickell who plays all 18 roles. Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol will play December 6 through 22, with a $25 preview performance on December 5.

Tom is a Virginia Senator and a rising star in the Republican Party. He's asked to join the ticket as the Vice-Presidential candidate. The only catch: he needs to sound "more Christian" on the campaign trail. Will he sacrifice his firmly held belief that faith and religion are private matters or give up an opportunity to govern the most influential country in the world? Privacy, politics, and public personas take center stage in this World Premiere Drama by a hot new American playwright. Kristen Coury will direct. The play will then travel up to be presented at Capital Repertory in May of 2014.
