In three days, the Orlando arts community will be forever changed as The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts presents its inaugural show, BROADWAY & BEYOND. Directed by theatrical legend Richard Jay-Alexander (Executive Producer for the original Broadway productions of LES MISERABLES and MISS SAIGON), the performance will feature stars from all imaginable entertainment disciplines, including Broadway's current Phantom of the Opera, Central Florida native Norm Lewis; Broadway's Little Mermaid, Sierra Boggess; star of stage and screen Michael Urie; and many more. As many of these stars rehearsed prior to their trip to Orlando, they took the time to tell Orlando, that "We're On!" Check out the exclusive BroadwayWorld videos here. BROADWAY & BEYOND is taking place in the gorgeous Walt Disney Theatre, which will be home to hundreds of events each year.

Though the tables for the event are sold out, individual tickets are still available for this once-in-a-lifetime show. Tickets are currently on sale and may be purchased by calling the Dr. Phillips Center Box office at 844.513.2014 or by visiting the Box office at 455 Magnolia Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or online at drphillipscenter.org. Last week, the Dr. Phillips Center opened its doors to the public for two days of open houses, culminating with a free outdoor concert from Sheryl Crow on the lawn. Having been through the entire venue, BroadwayWorld Orlando editor Kimberly Moy listed the Top-Ten Reasons that Orlando residents should be excited about this incredible new venue.

In addition to stars of Broadway, TV, music, opera, and more, Jay-Alexander came to Orlando in October to audition local girls for the opportunity of a lifetime. In honor of the film THE WIZARD OF OZ's 75th Anniversary, his plan was to find one talented young lady to sing the iconic song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" at BROADWAY & BEYOND, however, he was so overwhelmed by the Central Florida talent, that he selected four girls to be a part of the event. BroadwayWorld was at these special auditions and got exclusive footage of Jay-Alexander coaching one special auditioner before he gave us an exclusive tour of the facility.

Throughout the rest of the week, BroadwayWorld will have complete coverage of BROADWAY & BEYOND and the official opening of the Dr. Phillips Center. We will be on hand for the show Saturday night, and you should be too. This is going to be an event you do not want to miss, so grab your tickets, and join us.
