Broadway au Carré presents the world-premiere showcase of brand-new musical by American composer Adam Overett in Paris. Don't miss The Double-Threat Trio showcase at La Comédie Nation tonight, July 8th at 8pm.

To end its third season of American musical theatre concerts and shows in Paris, Broadway au Carré has invited the up-and-coming songwriter Adam Overett to come from New York and prepare the world-premiere showcase of his brand-new show Double-Threat Trio.

Adam Overett is a musical theater writer and performer living in New York City. Adam has appeared as an actor on Broadway and on national tour in The Light of the Piazza, understudying and performing the role of Fabrizio, as well as Neil Kellerman in the national tour of Dirty Dancing. As a songwriter, his musicals have been praised by critics and audiences alike. Their themes, inspired by the most unexpected stories, are treated with wit and humour. My Life is a Musical (2014) concerns a man who lives his life as a huge musical; Popesical (2012) takes a comically absurd look at the story of the Pope's succession; up next, Henry & Anne will be about a torrid and messy royal love affair... And this week, Paris will see the birth of his new musical comedy The Double-Threat Trio.

THE DOUBLE-THREAT TRIO - An actor who can't dance, a dancer who can't sing, and a singer who can't act have had enough of losing out on every job because they each lack a major skill -- so they team up with a writer/director/producer/designer/choreographer/stage manager to make a show of their own that highlights their talents and hides their flaws. What could go wrong?

Broadway au Carré is the leading American musical theatre concert and open-mic series in Paris. Its aim is to create an artistic link between the two cities that never sleep (Paris and New York). For three years now, the company has been inviting American songwriters to collaborate with Paris-based musical theatre performers. Broadway au Carre? has produced over 30 shows and 20 open mics as well as several concerts abroad, the latest one to a sold- out house at Feinstein's/54 Below in New York last November. Coming up: a concert in London on July 13th, with Adam Overett and an international cast starring Julie Atherton (Avenue Q, Sister Act, Ordinary Days).
