Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) will celebrate its 2026/2027 Season with the return of two of Dallas' signature events this December: Tutu Chic Fashion Show & Luncheon on December 1, 2026 and Sugar Plum Fairy Tea on December 19, 2026.

This season also debuts a new partnership with luxury retailer Stanley Korshak. This partnership represents a natural alignment between two iconic Dallas institutions that value artistry, sophistication, and elevated experiences. Allen Contemporary Theatre - June 26, 2026 through July 12, 2026

1776 is based on the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and the behind-the-scenes deals that led to this fateful moment in the history of the country. It begins on a sweltering day in Philadelphia – May 8, 1776. The Second Continental Congress is in session, and John Adams, the widely disliked delegate from Massachusetts, is enumerating his grievances against King George III and lobbying for independence. The other delegates, already divisive and annoyed by his arguments, demand that he sit down and shut up. After much wrangling and horse-trading, and numerous stirring songs, the play closes as one by one the delegates gather to sign the Declaration of Independence. In the background, as the lights go down, the Liberty Bell tolls loudly. The show premiered on Broadway in 1969 where it received acclaim and won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Hill Country Community Theatre (HCCT) invites audiences to journey deep into the woods this summer with Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's beloved musical, Into the Woods, running weekends June 12th – 28th, 2026.

Performances will take place on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, and on Sundays at 2:00 PM, at Hill Country Community Theatre in Cottonwood Shores.

Blending classic fairy tales with humor, heart, and unforgettable music, Into the Woods follows Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack, Rapunzel, and a Baker and his Wife as their wishes intertwine in unexpected ways. As familiar storybook characters venture into the woods seeking happily-ever-afters, they soon discover that wishes often come with unforeseen consequences.

HCCT's production of Into the Woods has been generously underwritten by Cathy Rose.

Audiences are invited to celebrate opening night on Friday, June 12th, with HCCT's traditional Opening Night Gala. Complimentary food and drinks will be served beginning at 6:30 PM, with the curtain rising at 7:30 PM.

Joshua Henry to Make Dallas Debut with Plano Symphony Orchestra

Henry, currently starring on Broadway in Lincoln Center Theater's acclaimed production of Ragtime as Coalhouse Walker Jr., won the Tony for Best Leading Actor in a Musical at last night's ceremony. How It Works

The setup is simple. During the draft window, you pick any six Broadway productions that opened this season. Drafting is non-exclusive, so there is no need to race a rival for a hot title. Any number of players can roster the same show.

From there, your shows go to work for you. Every week, each production on your roster earns fantasy points based on its reported box office grosses and capacity percentages. When Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle nominations and wins are announced, your shows bank bonus points on top of that. And each week you can answer our Fantasy Forecast prediction questions for up to five bonus points per correct call.

Weekly Scoring

Each week, a show earns one base point for every $50,000 it grosses, so a $1 million week is worth 20 base points. On top of that, shows can earn bonuses: up to five points for filling seats (based on how close to full capacity the house ran), six points for grossing $2 million or more (or three points for grossing between $1 million and $2 million), and eight points if its gross jumped at least 15 percent from the week before. A show loses four points if its gross dropped at least 15 percent. If a show goes dark and reports no gross for a week, it scores zero for that week with no penalty.

The Fantasy Forecast

The Producer Fantasy Game is really two games in one. The first is the box office game: drafting shows and earning points from their weekly grosses and awards. The second is the Fantasy Forecast, a weekly set of prediction questions about what's happening on Broadway, where each correct answer is worth up to five points. You can play one or both.

We track them separately so you can shine at either. Your Producer score covers the box office game, your Forecast score covers your prediction results, and your Combined score adds the two together for the overall championship ranking. The leaderboard lets you toggle between Overall, Producers, and Forecasters, so a sharp predictor can top the Forecasters board even during a rough season for their roster, and a roster powerhouse can lead the Producers board without answering a single question.

Managing Your Roster

Your lineup stays at six shows all season, and you have plenty of room to maneuver. You get one free drop every week, three additional season drops to use anytime before the trade deadline, and free replacements whenever a show on your roster closes. New productions open throughout the season and become available the moment they start reporting grosses, so it pays to keep a transaction in your pocket for that buzzy new opening.

Stolen Shakespeare Guild has released first look photos of its "Summer in the '80s" lineup, featuring productions of FOOTLOOSE and STEEL MAGNOLIAS at the Stolen Shakespeare Guild Theatre in Fort Worth.

To coincide with the season, the company is offering a Summer in the '80s Pass, which includes one ticket to each production at a discounted price. The pass is available through June 15 or while supplies last.

FOOTLOOSE will run July 10–26, 2026. Based on the hit film, the musical follows Ren McCormack, a teenager who moves to a small town where dancing has been banned. As he challenges local traditions, he encourages the community to reconsider its rules and embrace music and self-expression.

The musical features songs including "Footloose," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," "Holding Out for a Hero," and "Almost Paradise."

Directed by Tatum Love and Liv Hopkins, the production features stage management by Stefanie Glenn, choreography by Mandy Sanders, and music direction by Lauren Morgan.

SOMETHING ROTTEN! to Open at Historic Uptown Theater with Grand Prairie Arts Council

WEST SIDE STORY to Open at NTPA Repertory Theatre with Live Orchestra

North Texas Performing Arts Repertory Theatre will present its summer production of West Side Story, opening on June 19-28 at Willow Bend Center of the Arts.

The musical features a score by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and original concept with Jerome Robbins. The production will feature a live orchestra by NTPA Musical Theatre Orchestra, which recently won the Schmidt and Jones Award for Best Orchestra.

Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to 1950's New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the Jets and the Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.

West Side Story is led by a cast that features Nick Lama-Riva as Tony, Elisa Mato as Maria, Krystal Rodriguez as Anita, Manny Gallegos as Bernardo, Nathan Middleton as Riff, Ed Kless as Doc, Travis Carrick as Lt. Schrank and Beau Mills as Officer Krupke/Glad Hand.

Performing Arts Fort Worth has announced a digital lottery for HADESTOWN, powered by Broadway Direct.

After a premiere engagement in 2023 to packed out houses, the national Broadway tour returns to Fort Worth's Bass Performance Hall in a limited engagement June 5-7 as part of the 2025-2026 Broadway at the Bass Season presented by PNC Bank.

The digital lottery will begin accepting entries the day before each performance from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm starting Thursday, June 4, for the Friday evening performance, June 5. Fans who have been selected will be notified daily via email and can then purchase up to two (2) tickets at $39 each. Tickets must be purchased online using the purchase link within 60 minutes from the time the winner is notified.

Winners who do not purchase their tickets within their window by the claim time listed forfeit the opportunity to purchase and a standby drawing will be held. The ticket lottery will continue on a rolling basis, concluding with the Sunday evening performance, June 7. Casa Mañana Theatre closes its 2025-26 Broadway Season with Come From Away, a Broadway musical sensation with deep local ties. The show, presented by Autobahn, runs May 30 through June 7. Check out the photos below!

Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of a small town that welcomed 7,000 strangers in the aftermath of 9/11. Diverted flights were forced to land in Gander, Newfoundland, where the community came together to care for the pilots and passengers of the planes.

The characters in the show are based on the real people who lived or landed in Gander that day. One of whom is Captain Beverley Bass, a TCU alum and local pilot who is the first female captain of an American Airlines commercial plane. The song “Me and the Sky” details Bass' experience as a female pilot, the struggles she faced and the joy she feels when flying.

Other stories include that of Nick and Diane, strangers on the same plane who meet and fall in love over the course of their time in Gander; Hannah, the mother of a NYC firefighter; and Bonnie, a Gander SPCA worker who takes care of the animals on the planes, including two rare bonobo chimpanzees.

hapless playwright, his long-suffering Best Friend, and a waitress who is frankly the only
competent person in the story, as the town dissolves into civic chaos, political debate, and
something terribly strange. Wildly funny and surprisingly sharp.

The 4th Annual SparkFest Acting Competition celebrates Latine artists from across the
country. Ten actors, selected through a nationwide search, compete across three rounds
for cash prizes and your cheers!

TOGETHER To Be Presented In Collaboration With Uptown Players and Bruce Wood Dance Dallas

Uptown Players and Bruce Wood Dance Dallas will join forces this Pride Month for Together, a powerful new collaboration celebrating unity, resilience, chosen family, and love through music, movement, humor, and heartfelt storytelling.

Following the success of Imagine, this all-new production brings Uptown Players vocalists together with the acclaimed dancers of Bruce Wood Dance Dallas for an unforgettable evening that explores the journey from isolation to connection. Through iconic songs including “We Belong,” “Stand By Me,” “Call Me,” “We Are Family,” “All By Myself,” and “We Are the World,” the production moves from moments of vulnerability and longing into joyful celebration, reminding audiences that no one has to stand alone.

Blending soaring vocals, electrifying dance, and theatrical storytelling, Together reflects the shared mission of both companies: to center community, celebrate identity, and honor the voices and stories that bring people closer. As the script expresses throughout the evening, every voice matters, every body matters, and every story matters.

Together is directed by Clayton Younkin and Cole Vernon, with Vernon also serving as choreographer. Adam C. Wright serves as music arranger and director. The creative team includes Dennis Canright as set designer, Julie Hohman as lighting designer, Suzi Cranford as Costume Designer, and Brian Christensen as sound designer.

The cast features Peter DiCesare, Allison Glasman, Stephanie Godsave, Seth Paden, Weaver Rhodes, Coltin Snyder, Kylie Stewart, Megan Storey, Elliott Ludovic, Cole Vernon, L. Walter, and Brett Warner.

Dallas Opera's Kids Opera Boot Camp to Return This Summer With Free Sessions

At The Dallas Opera's (TDO) annual Kids Opera Boot Camp this summer, children can learn all about the magic of opera and the arts.

Led by TDO's Education staff and artists, this FREE, 3-hour workshop teaches children the ins and outs of putting on an opera performance. Students in grades K–6 will explore music, stage movement, and visual arts from TDO's professional opera singers. At the end of the session, the TDO singers will perform the children's opera THE BREMEN TOWN MUSICIANS, which celebrates teamwork, friendship, and kindness.

The popular workshop hosts hundreds of children every year, including more than 200 D-FW students in 2025. Spots are still available for its 2026 dates. This half-day workshop is open to individual children, school groups, and out-of-school time organizations. All individual children and groups must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Clark, Pell & King Productions will present the world premiere of MOMMA WON'T DIE, written by Patty Pell & Laurie Pell Grigsby and directed by Del Shores. MOMMA WON'T DIE will open on Friday, June 12 and run through Sunday, June 28 at Bryant Hall at Kalita Humphreys Theater, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd, Dallas, TX 75204.

MOMMA WON'T DIE is a dark comedy based on a true story about three generations of Southern women wrestling with death, dysfunction, and a century's worth of emotional clutter. Gigi Ralston, the 108-year-old matriarch of P-burg, West Virginia, announces she's finally ready to "give up the ghost,'' and the family is summoned to Gigi's once-grand Victorian home - where the porch still pretends everything's perfect while the inside tells the truth - old wounds come flooding back. Secrets surface, tempers flare, and a parade of quirky locals, nosy neighbors, and self-appointed helpers turn the house into a three-ring circus of caregiving and chaos. But y'all, Momma won't die! So while they wait, in this "Bless-Your-Heart West Virginia World," the knives are always there. It's just that with Southern families...you won't see 'em comin'. Somewhere under all the emotional wreckage, years of pride and good old-fashioned Southern spite, these women still manage to finally really see each other. It's not tidy, and it's definitely not genteel, but in that Southern Gothic, maddening, beautifully flawed way...family wins out.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST

PATTY PELL (Playwright/Producer) Patty Pell, an established actress based in Dallas, is an 80 year old new playwright. She has written "snippets" all her life: poems, short stories, two children's theatre programs, sales training videos, radio spots, and the finest, most talked about obituary tribute that the P-burg Sentinel ever published. Patty and her daughter, Laurie, wrote Momma Won't Die based on the last weeks they spent with Gigi in the summer of 2021. Those days of living with three generations of Southern women became the most important time in Patty's life.

LAURIE PELL GRIGSBY (Playwright) lives in Saint Simon's Island, Georgia. She has a husband, two grown daughters and a bossy pup named Molly. She was a competitive cheerleading coach for 25 years and has lived all over the south these past 30 years. This wonderful play came out of two weeks where Laurie and her mom said goodbye to "Gram" on her terms. Every family has crazy. The lesson is embrace it, accept it and be proud of where you came from.

Del Shores (Director) is the writer/director/producer of the films Sordid Lives, Blues for Willadean, Southern Baptist Sissies and A Very Sordid Wedding. He wrote and executive produced the MGM feature Daddy's Dyin'...Who's Got The Will? He has written eleven previous plays. His publisher is Samuel French/Concord and his plays have been produced thousands of times worldwide with four adapted for the screen. Southern Baptist Sissies, won the GLAAD Award, The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife won the NAACP Theatre Award, and both Yellow and Trailer Trash won the LADCC Award for Best Original Play and Best Production. In television, Del wrote, directed, executive produced and created the LOGO series, Sordid Lives: The Series. He also wrote and executive produced on the last three seasons of Showtime's Queer As Folk, and wrote and produced for Dharma & Greg and Ned & Stacey. He directed the world premiere of Jiggs' Burgess The Red Suitcase, winning The Robby Best Director Award, and the Off-Broadway premiere of Wounded. Shores has performed in hundreds of standup gigs in three national tours, including several sold out shows at Terrific New Theatre all filmed for DVD. His one-man play Six Characters In Search Of A Play performed in 33 cities, seven film festivals and the film adaptation won three film festival awards. Shores was given the Lifetime Achievement Award from LA Weekly and is the President of the Del Shores Foundation.

KEVIN J. CLARK (Producer) is honored to have the opportunity to bring this World Premiere play to audiences in DFW metroplex. Momma Won't Die is based on a true story that explores relationships and challenges that we all face. This is his first venture into serving as a producer of a theatrical play and is thrilled to have a wonderful team of talented artists who are bringing it to life. Previously, Clark has been an executive producer and actor in the international award winning TV web series, LIFE Anthologies, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and other platforms. His day job is practicing Law in Ft. Worth at the Law Office of J Kevin Clark PC. Clark is theatrically represented by Jill Blalock of Broad Talent in Dallas, Texas.

KATIE KING ("Ruby"/Producer) is thrilled to be both producing and acting in Momma Won't Die as the beloved caregiver, Ruby! Growing up doing theater, and after a long hiatus, she dove back into acting after becoming an empty nester. In 2019, she appeared in Driving Miss Daisy and Over the River and Through the Woods at The Core Theatre in Richardson, TX. King is beyond excited to be directed by Del Shores, since he's been an incredible teacher and mentor to her. Besides theatre work, she spends every week honing my skills (and having a blast) at José Quinones' The Artists Playground, where the work focuses on scene study, improv, character development and even the creation of short films. This is her first time producing a play and it's been amazing to learn all that goes on behind the scenes. Looking forward to bringing more original works to the stage with these intrepid partners!

From Trudy, the homeless savant, to Chrissy, the vapid gym bunny, this parade of engaging and insightful character studies all performed by one actress.

Jane Wagner's ever-timely, iconic, one-woman show, The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, examines American society, art, and human connectivity and explores the feminist movement. As one actor transforms into a series of other archetypal characters, they become the play's guiding conscience for the audience—a comical, quirky, and outlandish conveyor of the nuances of American society. Under the guidance of this beloved narrator, and her non-stop comic observations, the audience is treated to a mischievously clever observer of the society around her and the universe at large portrayed by the phenomenal Marianne Galloway, an Underman Company Member.

SONIC LIVE IN CONCERT to Launch Global Tour With US and UK Premieres

As Sonic the Hedgehog celebrates 35 years as one of the most iconic video game franchises of all time, Senbla and SEGA today announced Sonic Live In Concert (www.sonicliveinconcert.com). This new concert experience brings the music and moments of the beloved video games to the stage.

Featuring iconic moments and music from the very first game in 1991 through today, the production will debut in the U.S. at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on September 26, 2026, before making its European premiere at London's Eventim Apollo on September 30. The U.S. tour will visit more than 30 cities nationwide, and a UK tour will follow in February 2027. More European dates will be announced at a later time. Tickets will go on sale May 29, 2026, with pre-sale tickets going on sale on May 28, 2026.

As part of a global rollout celebrating the franchise's milestone anniversary, Sonic Live In Concert features the most recognizable music from the Sonic universe, performed by a live ensemble alongside rock musicians, vocalists, and electronic elements. IGNITE to Close Bruce Wood Dance Dallas' 16th Season at Moody Performance Hall

Bruce Wood Dance Dallas will conclude its 16th season with IGNITE, a contemporary dance program combining choreography, projection design, and visual art. Performances will take place June 12–14 at Moody Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District.

The program includes three works by contemporary choreographers and artists, including the world premiere of MOVE by Artistic Director Joy Bollinger. Created in collaboration with visual artist JM Rizzi and projection designer Courtney Ware, the piece combines multimedia visuals with a score by Levi.Sct blending classical piano, hip-hop, and techno influences.

“With MOVE, audiences can expect an experience that is exciting, dynamic, and fresh,” Bollinger said in a statement. “We want to capture that electric moment when different worlds meet.”

The evening will also feature the Dallas premiere of To Familiar Spaces in Dream by Jessica Lang. The work joins the company repertoire following Lang’s internationally recognized choreography for companies including American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

Rounding out the program is Bruce Wood’s Zero Hour, set to tangos by Astor Piazzolla and Lalo Schifrin. The work remains one of the company’s signature repertory pieces.

Performance Information

Performances will take place Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Performance Hall, located at 2520 Flora Street in Dallas.

Tickets range from $25 to $65. Student and senior rush tickets will be available for $15 at the box office beginning 90 minutes before each performance. Group ticket arrangements are available through the company.

FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES, VEAL and More Set for Undermain Theatre 2026–2027 Season

Undermain Theatre has announced its 43rd season, running from September 17, 2026 through June 6, 2027. The lineup will feature regional and professional premieres alongside a new production of a late-period work by Tennessee Williams.

The season will open with the regional premiere of EVENING AT THE TALK HOUSE by Wallace Shawn, directed by Producing Artistic Director Bruce DuBose. The play follows a group of former theatre collaborators reuniting under an authoritarian American regime where dissent and artistic expression have been suppressed. Performances will run September 17 through October 4, 2026.

The second production of the season will be the professional premiere of for the rest of our lives by Erin Malone Turner, directed by vicki washington in her Undermain directorial debut. The play explores reincarnation and enduring love through a couple’s encounters across multiple lifetimes. Performances are scheduled for October 29 through November 22, 2026.

Turner is the latest recipient of support from the Katherine Owens/Undermain Fund for New Work. Her previous work with the company included SPACED OUT, presented during Undermain’s Whither Goest Thou America Festival in 2022.

VEAL

In early 2027, Undermain will present the regional premiere of VEAL by Jojo Jones, directed by Artistic Associate Christina Cranshaw. The play premiered at A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago and follows the Queen of North America as she confronts former classmates through increasingly unsettling reenactments of their shared past. Performances will run February 25 through March 21, 2027.

THE TWO-CHARACTER PLAY (OUT CRY)

The season will conclude with THE TWO-CHARACTER PLAY (OUT CRY) by Tennessee Williams, directed by Stefan Novinski. The production will star Bruce DuBose and longtime company member Shannon Kearns. The play centers on siblings Felice and Clare, abandoned by their theatre troupe and left to perform alone while the boundaries between fiction and reality begin to collapse. Performances will run May 20 through June 6, 2027.

Performances will be at the Cox Playhouse, 1517 H Avenue in Plano, running June 4-20 on Thursday and Friday at 8:00 pm and Saturday at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm the first and third weekends, and Friday at 8:00 pm, Saturday at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm, and Sunday at 3:00 pm the second weekend.

When Mark McPherson (played by Troy Murray) first falls in love with Laura, he knows he’s in love with a phantom – for Laura is dead, and he’s in charge of her murder investigation. From her portrait, her letters, her personal effects and from his contacts with the three men who loved her (Alex Eding as Waldo Lydecker, Dylan Hilbert as Danny Dorgan, and Bradley Langan as Shelby Carpenter), Mark has created an image of a woman tantalizingly alive and real. When she appears in the midst of a thunderstorm, very much alive after all (played by Andie Pace), it is revealed that Laura’s best friend and rival was the true victim of the crime. But now, all the evidence seems to point to Laura’s guilt. Is Mark going to have to pin the crime on the woman he’s falling in love with? Rounding out the cast are Savannah Valdez as Bessie, Vivian Reed as Mrs. Dorgan, and Jay Matherly as Olsen.

Set design is by Rachel Velasco, costume design is by Benjamin Taylor Ridgeway and props design is by Sara Jones. Three New Full-Length Works Set for SheDFW Summer Theater Festival

SheNYC Arts has revealed their selected shows for the 2026 SheDFW Summer Theater Festival. The Festival, which annually features the works of Texas-based and national women, trans, & non-binary playwrights and composers, will run from September 8-13, 2026 at Stage West Theatre in Fort Worth, TX.

The 2026 SheDFW Summer Theater Festival will present the following three new full-length works:

BATTLE CROWN: The Legend of Princess Pink

A New Musical with Book, Music, and Lyrics by Amanda Dills

When three teenage gamers discover a mysterious 1980s console, they unlock an unfinished 8-bit adventure where the Princess is finally the playable character. Inside the game, castles glitch, wizards rap, and Ribits..well... "ribit." Battle Crown: The Legend of Princess Pink blends retro video game nostalgia, a synth-pop score, and a coming-of-age story about friendship, failure, and unfinished quests. In this feminist musical adventure, the biggest power-up just might be the courage to act before you know you can win.

The American Theatre Guild will present the beloved Tony Award-winning musical comedy, Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. This production will close out the 25–26 BROADWAY AT THE Buddy Holly HALL Series at The Buddy Holly Hall June 19–21, 2026.

There's trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian. Meredith Willson's six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy THE MUSIC MAN follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall. Featured songs such as "Seventy-Six Trombones," “Ya Got Trouble,” "'Till There Was You," “Pick-a-Little” and “Gary, Indiana,” THE MUSIC MAN is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.

This new production is helmed by veteran director Matt Lenz. Joshua Bergasse, Emmy Award winner, Tony Award nominee, and critically acclaimed choreographer, will create all new dances for the citizens of River City.

Meredith Willson's iconic humor, wordplay, and optimism will shine in this inventive reimagination of a beloved classic. Scenic Design is by Ann Beyersdorfer, Video Design is by Lisa Renkel, and Lighting Design is by Tony Award winner Ken Billington. The production will showcase the Broadway costumes designed by Tony Award winner Santo Loquasto.

Outcry Community Theatre Performs First Show At The Addison

Outcry Community Theatre will make their first appearance on The Addison Performing Arts Centre's Main Stage with their June 18-21 production of the musical Shrek. This is the third production of Outcry's community branch, which previously performed Oliver! and Seussical at the Lewisville Grand Theater.

Shrek: The Musical has music by Jeanine Tesori, a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, and is based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the book by William Steig. Outcry's production is directed and choreographed by Becca Johnson-Spinos with music direction by Parker Lessmann.

"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek.

The show features Brady Beckley and Dylan Cantu alternating the role of Shrek.

"I grew up watching every Shrek movie and it's a role I've always dreamed of playing," says Cantu. "Growing up I always felt like an outsider. I wasn't the coolest or most calm child, and didn't have many friends. In a way I've always felt a bit like Shrek and playing this role has helped heal that inner child. My hope is that those little Shreks in the audience feel seen and learn that no matter what people say or the assumptions made that we're all great the way we are and deserving of the love they dream of."

Also appearing in the musical are: Lee Mulupi as Donkey, Brennan Barnes and Karsten Schaffhauser as Fiona, Cameron Brown and Liam Paynter as Lord Farquaad, and Micah Graham and Amelia Racca as Dragon. The cast consists of 52 people of all ages, including several family members.

"People should come see Shrek because it's a completely new and different take on the show," says Beckley, "The way we're costumed, the dancing, the whole concept is completely fresh and new while still holding a lot of that charm and those iconic moments that make Shrek what it is. It's a beautiful show and I genuinely can't wait to hear what people have to say about it."

Performances are schedule to run: Thursday, June 18, 7:30pm, Friday, June 19, 7:30pm, Saturday, June 20, 2pm & 7:30pm and Sunday, June 21, 2pm & 6:30pm. It will be performed at The Addison Performing Arts Centre, Main Stage located at 15650 Addison Rd. Addison, TX. Tickets range from $15-25. Tickets are available online and at the door. There is a service charge for tickets purchased online or with a credit card.

SHERLOCK Final Installment to Open at Stage West Theatre

Stage West Theatre will present the grand finale in David MacGregor's Sherlock Holmes trilogy, Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Ghost Machine, beginning its 4-week regional premiere run Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 821 W Vickery Blvd. in Fort Worth, in the Jerry Russell Theatre.

Executive Producer Dana Schultes notes: “This being the last of the three, I hope people walk away satisfied and feeling like they've been a part of a rare thing. In all my years, I've never known a theatre to do a series like this with the same team. This final play is the meatiest of the three. I want people to feel like they've gotten to know Sherlock, Watson, Adler, and Chartier and are happy they met them. I want people to have had fun and be glad they were here, and to be spurred into buying tickets for next season.”
