The Fargo-Moorehead Community Theatre has announced audition times, dates, and details for their upcoming spring production of BUGSY MALONE SENIOR. The show is scheduled to run May 17 & 19 at 7:30 PM and May 20 at 2:00 PM.

Auditions for the show will be held on April 1 and 2 at 7:00 PM. Callbacks, as needed according to the director's discretion, will follow on the 3rd at 7:00 PM. Those auditioning will be expected to sing 16-32 bars of music, or a song that’s less than one minute long, accompanists will be provided. All who audition will be cast, with auditions serving as an opportunity for the director to hear invididual voices and cast accordingly. All participants must be at least 50 years of age at the time of performance.

Based on the 1976 movie, BUGSY MALONE is set in 1929 in New York City where established gangster Fat Sam and newcomer Dandy Dan fight for control of the metropolis. When Dandy Dan’s gang introduces “splurge blasters” which take out opponents using silly string, it seems Fat Sam will lose. Outside of the fighting is Bugsy Malone. He is more interested in courting the beautiful Blousey Brown. He helps her get a job at the speakeasy, Fat Sam’s Grand Slam, where she performs with Fat Sam’s wise-cracking girlfriend, Tallulah. As Fat Sam’s entourage continues to get splurged, he calls his friend, Bugsy Malone to save the day.

The FMCT previously featured shows such as RENT, ANNNIE JR, CLUE: THE MUSICAL, and THE MERRY WIVES OF WAHPETON in the 2011-2012 season.
