Preparation
Bring 2 headshots & resumes.

Please prepare 16 bars of a classic musical theatre up-tempo selection and 16 bars of a classic musical theatre ballad, in a similar style to the shows (total audition time should be 2 minutes). Please bring sheet music ready and marked for accompanist

Performances are 6/20/14-6/29/14 (with a possible 2 week extension)
Seeking: 5 men, 3 women for concert presentation

Zorba:
Baritone-late 50’s to mid-60’s. Physically strong, charismatic man. Commanding presence that everyone is drawn to.

Anagnosti/Multiple Roles:
Tenor-50’s. Member of the community

Mavrodani/Multiple Roles:
Bass/Baritone-50’s. Pavli’s Father. Member of the community.

Mimiko:
Tenor-early 20’s. Mentally challenged. Slight stutter. Befriends the Widow.

Pavli/Priest:
High Baritone: early 20’s. Idealistic, passionately in love with the Widow.

Athena/Multiple Roles:
Soprano-40’s. Member of the community

Sophia/Belly Dancer/Multiple Roles:
Soprano-early 20’s. Must be a trained dancer.

Alexis/Multiple Roles:
Alto-early 20’s. Member of the community.

The following roles have been cast. Auditioners will be considered as a possible replacements for:

Niko:
Role CAST. High Baritone-mid to late 20’s. Introspective and philosophical. A kind and sensitive man searching for his place in the world.

Leader:
Role CAST. Alto, Big Belt-mid 30’s. The narrator of the show.

Dame Hortense:
Role CAST. Alto-late 50’s to early 60’s. Tremendous actress. Faded chanteuse . Must have both tremendous comic timing as well as dramatic chops.

Widow:
Role CAST. Alto-Mid 20’s. Very attractive but an outcast in the community. Emotionally scarred from her loss.

Manolakas:
Role CAST. High Baritone: late 30’s. Mavrodani’s brother. Large powerful man. Dangerous.

Contralto-mid 50’s. Italian. Tony’s sister. Takes care of her brother but is threatened by Rosabella. Domineering.

Herman:
Tenor-30’s. Good natured Texas farm hand.

Postman/Multiple Roles:
Baritone-mid to late 50’s. Member of community

Pasquale/Multiple Roles:
Tenor-30’s. Very strong operatic voice. Ranch chef

Giuseppe/Multiple Roles:
Tenor-30’s. Very strong operatic voice. Ranch chef

Ciccio/Multiple Roles:
Tenor-20’s. Very strong operatic voice. Ranch chef

Doc/Cashier:
Tenor-50’s. Soft lilting voice.

Female Chorus:
Soprano-40’s. Very strong operatic voice.

Female Chorus:
Alto-40’s. Very strong operatic voice.

Role CAST. Alto, Big Belt-30’s. Waitress. Originally from Dallas. CAST

Joe:
Role CAST. High Baritone/Tenor-late 20’s to early 30’s. Ranch foreman. Free spirit. Very handsome. CAST
