Dancing auditions begin at 6pm

For a singing/acting appointment, please email Robert.Miller@ostcri.org beginning 1/18/17. Equity Members without appointments will be seen throughout each audition day, as time permits on a first-come-first-serve basis. No appointment needed for dance audition that follows at 6pm


CONTRACT

LOA $447/week minimum



SEEKING

Equity actor/singers and actor/singer/dancers for various roles and ensemble.


PREPARATION

Singing/acting auditions: Please prepare two brief songs (one up-tempo and one ballad) appropriate to show. Note that there may be time to perform one selection only. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but will not transpose. Some may be asked to stay for the dance call. Bring appropriate dancewear and character shoes.

Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.

BREAKDOWN

VICTORIA GRANT:
Female. 30-40. Legit Mezzo-Soprano/Alto Belt. British accent – RP expected. Victoria Grant is a proper British soprano, who has become stranded in Paris through a series of very unfortunate events. Ultimately she becomes the toast of Paris as a female impersonator. Throughout the play she learns to embrace her power as a woman while discovering true love, both perhaps, for the first time.

CAROL “TODDY” TODD:
Male. 40-50. Baritone. “Toddy” is naturally charismatic and a flamboyant performer. He has been the nightly entertainment at Chez Lui forever and lives a life of gaiety and nonchalance. He hatches the idea of disguising Victoria as Victor and they both find it does not take them where they expected.

KING MARCHAN:
Male. 40’s. Baritone. King Marchan is a powerful businessman and possible gangster from Chicago who seems to have both power and money. He is sexy, charming, handsome and moves through life with ease and confidence.

NORMA CASSIDY:
Female. 30’s. Mezzo-Belt. Norma Cassidy is a Chicago nightclub entertainer and current girlfriend of Chicago businessman King Marchan. A classic, comic showgirl and moll.

SQUASH BERNSTEIN:
Male. 25-45. Tenor. Squash Bernstein is the right-hand-man, bodyguard, professional muscle-for-hire for a Chicago business man King Marchan. He is as tough as they come but smarter than he looks.

HENRI LABISSE:
Male. 40-60. Bass. French accent expected. Henri Labisse is the proprietor of Chez Lui, a nightclub of questionable repute that definitely operates on the shady side of Paris.

ANDRE CASSELL:
Male. 30-50. Bass. French accent expected. Andre Cassell is the owner and manager of Cassell’s, a very prestigious nightclub in Paris. He presents Victor to the world.

SAL ANDRETTI, MALE ENSEMBLE:
Male. 40-60. Baritone. Sal Andretti is a “businessman” from Chicago, who owns a chain of nightclubs in Chicago as well as other “business” holdings.

MALE ENSEMBLE:
Male. 25-35. All vocal ranges. Looking for three to four sexy, strong, incredibly talented, triple threats to play various specialties throughout the show and be featured dancers and singers in the various nightclubs. Parts include JUKE, CLAM, GREGOR, JAZZ SINGER, APACHE DANCER, POLICEMEN, ETC. One ensemble member needs exceptional partnering skills and another needs to be strong vocal soloist.

FEMALE ENSEMBLE:
Female. 25-35. All vocal ranges. Looking for three to four sexy, strong, incredibly talented, triple threats to play various specialties throughout the show and be featured dancers and singers in the various nightclubs. Parts include COSMETICS PRESIDENT, SIMONE, FLOWER LADY, CHAMBER MAID, APACHE DANCER, MISS SELMER, ETC. One ensemble member needs exceptional partnering skills and another needs to be strong vocal soloist.
