Female, late 20s-30s; soprano leading lady, stuffy, "stuck up" town librarian and music teacher, soprano (Low G-High A)
Male, 30s-40s, Professor Hill’s best friend, any ethnicity, energetic comic character, likeable and infectious, must sing and move very well, tenor (G-High A)
Female, 50s-60s, Marian’s mother, mezzo soprano (A flat-E flat)
Male, 40s-50s, Mayor of River City, blustery politician, strong physical presence, traditional thinker yet eccentric and a little off-center, baritone or tenor
