Seeking
AEA and non-AEA Talent. AEA Guest Artist contracts anticipated for any of the following roles: Ariel, Prince Eric, King Triton, Sebastian, Ursula.

Preparation
Please bring picture and resume. Bring sheet music in the style of the show, and in the proper key, accompanist provided. No recorded music or a capella, please. Non-union and children please limit song to one minute.

Performance Dates: July 15th-24th (10-12 performances)

Performances to take place at the Kavli Theatre, Bank of America Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, Thousand Oaks, CA. All ethnic types encouraged for all roles.

Breakdown

SEEKING ALL ETHNICITIES FOR ALL ROLES!!

ARIEL (to play 16-25): A mermaid and King Triton's youngest daughter. She is obsessed with everything about the human world, and dreams of becoming a part of life above the water. Hard-headed, naive, and emotional, but also kind-hearted. Excellent singer who moves well. (Ab3-Gb5. Must have Eb5 belt.)

PRINCE ERIC (to play 20-30): A human monarch who has no interest in taking the crown. A handsome, affable lad with a buoyant, adventurous nature. After Ariel saves his life, he becomes obsessed with finding her and hearing her voice once more. Must sing well and move well (B2-G4)

GRIMSBY (to play 40-60): Prince Eric's British guardian. Droll, stuffy, and constantly urging Eric towards his royal duties, specifically marriage. Minimal singing required. (C3-C4)

FLOUNDER (Considering boys to play 8-12 OR Teens to play 13-17) A fish who is smitten with his best friend, Ariel. He’s rambunctious but cautious, fearful of the dangers that lurk in and above the water. Excellent singer and strong dancer. (Kids’ range: A1-G5, Teen range: A2-G4)

SCUTTLE (to play 30-50): A disheveled seagull and “expert” in human artifacts. Loudmouthed, optimistic, and a bit ignorant, despite his supposed expertise. Must sing and be strong tapper. (C3-G4)

KING TRITON (to play 35-50): King of the Sea and Ariel's father. Beneath his imposing presence and commanding nature lurks a harried single father who will do anything to protect his daughters. The death of his wife has also given him an irrational fear of humans. Must sing well. (Ab2-F4)

SEBASTIAN (to play 30-50): A Jamaican crab and advisor to King Triton. A musical virtuoso who is constantly distraught from keeping after Ariel. Despite his paranoia, he can't bring himself to stand in Ariel's way. Must sing and move well. (Bb2-C5)

FLOTSAM (to play 20-40): An eel and one of Ursula's lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear. Singer who moves well. (E3-C5)

JETSAM (to play 20-40): An eel and one of Ursula's lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear. Singer who moves well. (B2-A4)

URSULA (to play 35-50): The banished Sea Witch and sister of King Triton. Supposedly spurned at childhood, she will use whatever method necessary to steal the kingdom and claim it as her own. Malevolent, calculating, and deceptive. Strong singer. (Eb3-C5)

CHEF LOUIS (to play 30-50): The French palace chef, diabolical and violent. A culinary perfectionist with an affinity for blades, seafood in particular. Great with comedy. Must sing. (Bb2-A4)

MERSISTERS (to play 18-30): Ariel’s 6 singing sisters. AQUATA, ANDRINA, ARISTA, ATINA, ADELLA, ALLANA. All must sing and dance well. (Coloraturas with high F5 belt.)

DANCERS WHO SING & SINGERS WHO MOVE (14 & up): Seeking a diverse ensemble of singers, dancers, and actors to play CREW MEMBERS, PILOT, SAILORS, SEA CREATURES, GULLS, MAIDS, CHEFS, ANIMALS, PRINCESSES. Especially seeking dancers excelling in hip/hop, jazz/theatre dance, and/or tap.

KIDS’ ENSEMBLE (8-13): Seeking a diverse ensemble of singers, dancers, and actors to play SEA CREATURES, GULLS, and ANIMALS. Especially seeking dancers excelling in hip/hop, jazz/theatre dance, and/or tap.
