BREAKDOWN

AMANDA
CAST (Sally Field). 60s. A proud Southern woman; tethered to the past. Mother to TOM and LAURA. Vivacious, charming and willful; her fierce love for and devotion to her children can border on the suffocating.

TOM
CAST (Joe Mantello) late 40s. LAURA's older brother. Works at a shoe warehouse to support his family, but aspires to be a poet.

LAURA
CAST (Madison Ferris). early 20s. TOM's younger sister. A young woman with a mobility disability. Painfully shy, but possessed of a strong spirit; she is most happy at home with her glass figurines and records.

JIM O'CONNOR
CAST (Finn Wittrock) late 20s- early 30s. A high school acquaintance of both TOM and LAURA, now works with TOM at the shoe warehouse. Attractive and affable, beginning to feel regret over the unfulfilled potential of his gilded high school years.
