Breakdown

Seeking Equity actors (bilingual in English and Spanish and plus). Please indicate on your resume if you are fluent in both.

SONG FOR THE DISAPPEARED takes place at the Cantu's hacienda-style ranch house in the Rio Grande Valley in arid, scorching Texas, minutes from the border with Mexico.

Synopsis: When Javi Cantú vanishes, the family patriarch, his trophy wife, daughters, and bodyguard reunite for the first time in years to find him. But saving a son from the narcos on the Mexican border is nothing compared to saving the Cantús from each other.

Seeking:

ADRIANA CANTU:
Mid 30s, Mexican born. Technically a Texan, but raised on the border, so not quite a Texan. Leo Cantu's oldest daughter. A pillar of strength, but struggling with the fact that she has gone away from her family to make her life.

MARIO PAYAN:
Mid 30s, Mexican-American. Born and raised in the border region of the Rio Grande Valley, but on the Texas side. He tried to leave once, but it just didn't feel right. Has become a born-again Christian in the last few years.

NENA CANTU:
30, but you'd think she was 22. Adriana's sister and the middle child of the Cantu clan. A pretty girl with a nurturing spirit. Nothing is wrong with her, exactly…she's just a little more sensitive. Even more delicate than before. Something no longer quite right about her.

MILA DE CANTU:
Early 30s. Leo Cantu's new wife. Glamourous and slightly overbearing. A little too much: too much makeup, too much hair, too many Mila. Born and raised in Mexico. has an accent she tries to hide.

LEO CANTU:
Early 60s. The mercurial patriarch of what's left of the Cantu family. Proud of his heritage; proud to come from a founding lineage of this border area; proud in general.
